Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention (ASAAP) provides settlement services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer (LGBTQ+) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) positive newcomers who are from South Asia and the Middle East. Our Settlement team provides services to newcomers to assist them in their settlement and integration process. The organization’s settlement program was established in 2020 and is generously funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). We offer a wide array of services, including needs and assets assessment and referrals, one-on-one settlement counseling support, information and orientation sessions, and employment referrals. Support services such as transportation assistance are also provided to eligible clients in order to promote access to settlement programming.
