There are some things you have control over, and some things you don’t. The trick to feeling better and less stressed is to focus on what’s in your control and let go of the rest.
The reason our brain want to control everything (even when we can’t) because uncertainty makes us nervous. When we don’t know what’s going to happen, our brain tries to grab onto anything it can to make us feel safer. But once we recognize what’s truly in our control and what’s not, we can start to let go of that need to control everything. It’s like telling your brain, ‘I’ve got this, I’m focusing on what I can do, and that’s enough’.
