I’m not afraid of my shadow.
I dance with her.
We twist and pull each other apart—
until I burn away,
falling ash into the fire
of my ego,
lying broken on the floor.

I wield my energy like a lioness.
The storm’s fury forges into a sword—
cracking like lightning,
then crumbling
back into the earth.
I learned to stop running
from the versions of me that snarl,
that cry out in the silence,
that carry knives not to wound—
but to cut the bindings I once mistook for belonging.

She—my shadow—is not my enemy.
She is my ritual.
My reckoning.
The one who watches me bleed,
and says, “Good. Now you’re alive.”

There were nights I shattered quietly,
no witnesses but the moon.
Nights where I felt the soil open for me,
inviting me to lie down,
to become nothing
so I could remember everything.

From those roots, I rose.

Not clean.
Not untouched.
But holy in my ruin,
truthful in my rage,
and sharp with the kind of grace
you only earn
by crawling through your own hell
and choosing to keep walking.
