Who struggles to find motivation when it comes to their health and wellness? 🙋🏼‍♀️ As a mom, it can even sometimes be a struggle for me to prioritize! Sometimes it feels like there just aren’t enough hours in the day! There’s always food to make, toys to pick up, laundry to fold… I mean, the list could really go on.

Carving out “you time” is just as important (if not more) as the other to-dos of the day. It’s about making the time and forming the habit. It won’t happen overnight, and it won’t always be perfect. You just have to start somewhere and eventually you will forget what it was like not to have a moment of the day that is yours.

I know it can be overwhelming to know where to start, so please reach out if you need some extra support!

The food you choose to consume has an overall effect on your blood sugar regulating hormones, insulin and glucagon, as well as numerous other hormones throughout your body. If your blood sugar regulation is not functioning correctly it can generate many health challenges such as acne, hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome, mood swings, low testosterone, stubborn belly fat, fertility complications and PMS.​

So many oils can cause inflammation due to omega 6 fats and can be heavily refined and processed.

Inflammation is one of the main drivers of disease so it’s important to try and avoid these oils.

Instead, add oils like avocado and extra virgin olive oil (perfect for salads) or coconut oil that is great for cooking.

Olive oil is a natural anti inflammatory and contains antioxidants but you don’t want to heat it up as it has a low smoke point and can go rancid, becoming toxic. Drizzle it on a salad instead!

Detoxing our bodies is how we rid them of toxins. When you remove certain substances such as sugar from your diet, your liver is able to eliminate the environmental toxins that have been stored in your fat cells.
Detoxing can increase longevity, boost metabolism, mental health and energy, improve skin health and help prevent many diseases.
A sugar detox is one of the fastest and healthiest ways to lose weight and gain control of your moods (as your blood sugar levels will be balanced throughout the day). Almost everyone can benefit from a sugar detox unless they have been otherwise instructed not to.

As a parent there are so many things to worry about. Trying to do it all and be everything for your kids often means you take a back seat. Making your health a priority is so important, not only for yourself but for your children as well. They learn those good habits from you and I believe one of the most important lessons you can teach them is how to properly nourish their bodies.
