Need to calibrate your methadone pump or looking for an upgrade?

Factory re-calibration is recommended every 6 months – 1 year to ensure ongoing accuracy.

In order to calibrate your pump, you must first clean it.

Important Cleaning Instructions

Clean with hot water after every medicine change, especially after use with Methadone.
1. Screw instrument onto an empty bottle and empty it completely by dispensing it and recalculating it
2. Screw the instrument onto a bottle filled with hot water and rinse the instrument several times by completely filling and emptying it
Once you have cleaned the unit, you want to have it in a container filled with distilled water.

Check the Volume

1. 10 dispensing operations with distilled water in 3 volume ranges (100%, 50% 10%) are recommended
2. For filling pull up the piston gently until the utter stop of the volume set
3. For discharge depress piston slowly and steadily without force until the lower stop
4. Wipe off the tip of the discharge tube
5. Weight the dispensed quantity on an analytical balance
6. Practically this can be done by putting an empty ointment jar on your scale and using the tare function. You can then pump the water into the jar which should be 1g/ml. You must also ensure that your scale is accurate and calibrated before doing this.
7. If there is any discrepancy the pump must be calibrated. (I can’t see the top of the unit but it looks like it is a digital unit if it is analog please feel free to contact me directly)

Recalibrating

1. Open the housing by sliding the latch to the left and removing the front (Fig 1)
2. Lift gear lock lever to release. With this action, the adjustment cover plate breaks off (Fig 2)
3. Pull the red k**b to disengage the gears and set the display to actual delivered volume
4. Reposition red k**b and gear lock lever to their original positions
5. Replace housing and slide the latch to the right (Fig 5). Alteration of factoring setting is indicated by a red calibration flag (Fig 6)
