Simple tips to ease the body into changing seasons and colder temperatures:
✅Eat vegetables that are in season. Think root veggies! That means beets, carrots, onions, garlic, potatoes, turnips, parsnips etc.
✅Ditch the cold smoothies! Warm foods are easier for the body to process in colder temperatures, aiding digestion and stimulating circulation. This does not just include stir fry, soups and stews. Spices like turmeric, cinnamon and ginger can also be warming for the body.
✅Cover the back of your neck with turtlenecks and scarves. In traditional Chinese Medicine, Feng Men, which means “wind gate”, is located at the back of your neck and it is vulnerable to pathogens which can cause colds and flus.
✅Consider Change of Season Soup to strengthen your immunity. It consists of 4 tonifying herbs including: Astragalus membranaceus, Codonopsis pilosula, Dioscorea opposita and Lyciium barbarum.
