Counting your blessings!

A perfect sediment for gratitude Thursday. And one of the laws of wellness. Gratitude is a mainstay of having a healthy life.

Where energy goes, the blessings flow. This is very true when it comes to airplanes, cars, and also for gratitude. Living in a country that sees snow we learn as part of our driving lessons to look where you want the car to go. It is the way to stay on the road - look where you are going. Put your energy in the direction you want to go. Gratitude works the same way, if you put your energy in to looking at your blessings then, they will grow.

Our brains have the capacity to see out what we are thinking about. So focus on building your gratitude practice and watch what happens.

What a great way to spend an evening!

Shed the stress of the week and relax in a warm bath.

Make it a regular date night with yourself. Make it a ritual way to decompress, one that no one interrupts. Honoring yourself with a regular break from the busy world.

Selfcare is a required part of your week, not a nice to have. Create a ritual for yourself.

Wellness is tied to gratitude and it gives back to you physically, psychologically, and socially!

Gratitude is more than just a feel good thing. The effects of building a feeling of gratitude in yourself are:
Physical
Stronger immune systems
Less bothered by aches and pains
Lower blood pressure
Exercise more and take better care of their health
Sleep longer and feel more refreshed upon waking

Psychological
Higher levels of positive emotions
More alert, alive, and awake
More joy and pleasure
More optimism and happiness

Social
More helpful, generous, and compassionate
More forgiving
More outgoing
Feel less lonely and isolated.

With all these benefits, gratitude should be a daily practice to improve your access to a better life!

Creating new habits can present confusing situations. Hold to the new goal and act accordingly.

Confused, Anxious & Full of Mind Chatter are normal when we create new habits and make new choices.

Our brain questions whether or not it was a good thing to change, after-all you survived just fine before. These new ways require you to be more conscious of the actions you are taking. And more committed to the decisions that will lead you on your new path.

All is right and yes normal for healthy pattern change to your life.

Keep going! Breath deep and celebrate that you are on the right path. The change you are working towards is on its way to you. You are developing your resilience! Next time you will know this is normal, and you are growing stronger!

The gift of forgiveness. Today's gratitude Thursday I believe is key to our ability to experience gratitude.

Forgiveness generally involves a decision to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. The thing/person/act that hurt or offended you might always be with you, but you can choose to forgive. It is this decision to let go that releases the hold the hurt had on you and the control the other person had on your happiness.

You deserve to live a happy life free of the hurt, shame or guilt someone else has put on you. Forgiveness will allow you to move on, free to experience new life.

Do you feel like too many ch or not enough?

Always concerned about being too much or not enough I would often dream of riding off into the sunset. But I could never be just me.

Me, I was filled with passion, opinions, gifts, and vision. Life was filled with roles and expectations. Freedom wasn't something I aspired to until I began to get to know me a little more.

It wasn't an easy transformation, lots of bumps and bruises, tears and hurts but, gradually I learned that inside of me were the answers.

I learned that the feeling inside of me, that I had some purpose to bring to this world was more important than the opinions of anyone. I learned my heart was big and that I love people. I love to see them live!

Most importantly I learned that the more I tried to fit expectations the less I felt aligned to who I knew myself to be.

Funny thing about wild mustangs, they don't need a self help manual. They know how to be a wild mustang. They aren't caught up in any trappings, they live their lives in community with others who "get them" and are true to themselves.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all have a little more wildness?

The past two weeks we have looked at humility and responding to change as tools to develop resilience. This week, courage is next key to building resilience.

With humility the skill of asking questions, expecting and adapting to change are the first two steps the ability to develop resilience. The courage then to move forward, to
acquire new ways of doing things that could invite scrutiny and risks, this is the next phase.

Learning, accepting and then moving forward with boldness and courage is the way to growth and flourishing.

Develop resilience and the world is yours.
