Don’t just think it, BE it, advises our July/August cover athlete . Remember that “fake it till you make it” doesn’t just apply to your career: your fitness journey will benefit when you step into the role of your stronger, more confident self, even before you truly feel it.

Need some inspo on how to walk the talk? Try the following:

- Tell yourself you’re going to kill it at the squat rack—before you even touch the bar.
- Dress for the job with workout wear that is comfortable from the first rep to the last and makes you feel great.
- Congratulate yourself after a job well done! It doesn’t have to be a purchase; simply recognizing that you killed it can go a long way to convincing you to do it all over again the next day.
