This , I'd like to highlight the work of .

The Teresa Group may fly under the radar, but they punch above their weight. Their mandate is to support children, youth and families living with HIV with initiatives like the Infant Formula Program, mentorships and scholarships, practical supports for healthcare, transportation, Camp Mandala - a summer camp for kids and youth, and more.

I’ve been involved with The Teresa Group as a Board Member for some time now, and I see firsthand the real impact they have on families living with HIV, and especially the level of care and support they provide for children and youth who are affected by HIV.

This , if you’re so inclined, I’d like to invite you to join me in making a donation to The Teresa Group

I’d also like to acknowledge the important work of all the organizations helping to make our world a better place, from international NGOs to local shelters.

Each year, on behalf of our clients and to honour them, The Village Pharmacy makes charitable donations to a list of organizations that make a meaningful impact in the HIV space, in Toronto, nationwide and internationally. It's a tradition that dates back to our first year on Church St, in 2005, and one we value. You can check out our list of charities for 2025 on our Social Responsibility page here: https://www.thevillagepharmacy.ca/social-responsibility

A little throwback for :

Saturday, December 1, 2018: The Village Pharmacy opened its second location at 535 Yonge St, and welcomed the community to celebrate both the Grand Opening and World AIDS Day 2018.

Back then, point-of-care testing for HIV (results in 1 minute!) was revolutionary; I was asked to participate in the first national pilot program for that test, which increased access to HIV testing and provided immediate care for anyone who tested positive. It also provided an opportunity for the pharmacist to talk about PrEP in a neutral, non-judgmental way, helping to improve the health of so many and prevent countless infections.

Fast forward just seven years to today: injections once every two months are revolutionizing both HIV prevention and treatment yet again...increasing adherence, reducing infections, and providing those affected with an even better quality of life.

This 2025, I remember so many we lost to HIV/AIDS throughout the 90s - loved ones, friends, acquaintances, patients... continues to honour them through our work.

PrEP and PEP are more than just medications—they're lifelines for Toronto's community health.

At The Village Pharmacy, we see firsthand how these services empower individuals to take control of their sexual health with confidence and care. PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) helps prevent HIV before exposure, while PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) is the critical 72-hour safety net after potential exposure.

Thanks to over 20 years of specialized experience, our team provides fast, compassionate access to these treatments—alongside expert advice and support tailored for the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

By making PrEP and PEP accessible and stigma-free, we're helping reduce new HIV infections and fostering a safer, healthier Toronto. Plus, our convenient clinics and reliable delivery options make staying protected easier than ever.

Your health matters. Whether you're starting PrEP, need urgent PEP, or supporting someone who does, we're here with personalized care that respects and understands you.

Have questions or want to learn more about how PrEP and PEP serve our community? Reach out or visit us at one of our Toronto locations—because protecting yourself is a powerful act of self-love and community care.

HIV | PrEP | PEP

The Village Pharmacy in the heart of Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Village is your best choice for HIV, PrEP and PEP meds.

Since 2001, The Village Pharmacy has built a reputation for friendly, compassionate and professional care you can trust. You’ll get your meds when you need them, expert counselling, help with insurance and payment coverage, and we even deliver HIV meds for free, Ontario-wide.

“The friendly and knowledgable staff have kept me coming back for years. I left another pharmacy because the service was terrible and found they weren't very appreciative of my business. Another reason I love this pharmacy is because they give back to the community. Their delivery service is also great for times when you're running low on your meds and can't make it in, even if you're out of the province.” - Google Review
