CHANGE?
If you live in Ontario/Canada and you are tired of any/most/all government officials or political “leaders” and really want change it has to come from the ability for citizens to better have their voice heard rather that getting to vote for a decision maker who only gets about 1/3 of their electors votes. How does one person who 60%+ of the population didn’t vote for, get all the power? It’s tough to call it a democracy when there’s only one person having the sole power to decide for all of the people whether at a city level or country wide level
I know many people hate discussing politics, but if we don’t talk about it broadly as citizens, then when will it ever change?
Currently politics is serving the fewer of the population at the expense of the majority as seen in the growing wealth gap among other key metrics.
People in my riding who I have spoken to said they would vote for me but that would be like throwing away a vote because I’m not a major party and I get it
those issues have been growing for decades, every major party in Canada (3 major parties in Canada) has had their turn running all levels of government and it seems like people are forced to pick the lesser evil or the lease worst candidate
I support any candidate of any party at any level that is pushing for more direct democracy via things such as political and voting reform. Also considering more ability for citizen led recalls of politicians and referendums. (Which is are the the main and pretty much only policies is of the party NOTA NOTA.ca)
The idea that historically bills that have been proposed by the public tend to pass at a multiple of what politician led bills pass because they are simply deciding with their own biases or agendas is a great example of why citizens should have more say directly and any given individual in government shouldn’t have power that can’t easily be challenged.
.
If you haven’t voted, get out there and do so.
Vote for a local representative, or even vote for the smallest party that resonates with you in your riding especially in term of voter and general political reform. just to shift the monopoly away from the big 3.
