New rubber grips installed on the Life Fitness Pro2 Series Assist Dip Chin

In the 3rd slide, you can see the reason why the grips started to twist. A grease was applied in the past by another tech company in an attempt to slide the grips over the bars. This led to the rubber grips soaking up the grease and making them sticky to the touch, twisting and eventually tearing away.

The grease needed to be cleaned away before installing the new grips. Once that was done, we were able to get the equipment back in good working order.

Before & after pictures of a fitness facility setup we had the pleasure of being a part of.

With all of the work going on at the same time (HVAC, flooring, painting, electrical, etc.) to get the gym open by their deadline, it got a bit tricky at times assembling over 40 pieces of equipment.

Nevertheless, we made it work!

Treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, rower, belt squat, leg curl/ leg extension, squat racks, assist chin/dip, chest press & lat pulldown machines are just a few of the ones we assembled here.

Replacing cables on the strength training equipment at this amazing gym 💪

The Life Fitness Multi-Jungle Adjustable Pulley had an "out of order" sign on it because the weight stack cable had worn down to the point that the coating had come off exposing the steel cable.

When this happens, the steel rope beneath begins to fray which can lead to damage of the pulleys. Even worse than this, it can lead to a member of the club getting hurt if they come into contact with the frayed part of the steel cable or if the cable snaps.

Luckily this didn't go unnoticed. Now that the repair is underway, this piece of equipment will be operational again in no time.

Wiping down your equipment after each workout is how you can minimize if not eliminate altogether the rusting of your equipment.

It was preventative maintenance day at this gym yesterday.

Preventative maintenance of these expensive pieces of equipment is crucial to eliminating and minimizing down time where members are unable to use them.

Replacing the heavy duty pillow bushings on a Precor EFX5.37

You can see how badly worn the bushings were when compared to the new ones we installed. These bushings secure the pulley and drive assembly to the frame of the elliptical.

In the condition that the bushings were in, the drive system was starting to wobble during use which caused it to rub against other parts inside the elliptical. This could have lead to significant damage and costly repairs had the issue not been resolved immediately. Luckily our client called us as soon as she heard the noise and more importantly stopped using the equipment until the repair was complete.

Life Fitness Activate Treadmill Walking Belt & Deck Replacement

Replacing the decks and walking belts on these 2 Life Fitness treadmills was amazing.

Certain parts on a treadmill like the walking belt and deck need to be replaced from time to time even with regular preventative maintenance services. I always compare them to the brakes or tires on a vehicle. Keeping these 2 parts in good condition extends the life of the equipment because other parts (ex: drive motor, lower control board) are affected by the wear and tear on the belt and deck.

Horizon CT9.1 Repair

Today we replaced the drive motor on our client's Horizon CT9.1 Treadmill.

The motor was very badly worn and causing loud noises for the users.

When the motor was removed we cleaned out the entire motor compartment of all dust and debris to ensure the treadmill continues to operate smoothly and to minimize the wear and tear.

Cleaning the motor compartment from time to time is part of preventative maintenance for treadmills that extends the life of the equipment.
