Have you neglected yourself? All too often I hear from people but especially moms whom have head back to work and years pass by and then they wake up and realize in the madness of life they have completely forgotten their own health and well being. There is no doubt it is tough if not impossible at times to keep all the balls in the air. Can be even tougher if life throws you curve balls ( I am certainly no stranger to that ) It may seem counter intuitive to now try and find time for yourself and make sure your health is a priority but for over 24 years now I have been working with moms from pregnancy to new motherhood and beyond. In fact one of my longest terms clients now has boys that are 23 and 21 and I first worked with her when she was pregnant with her first son! She went back to work as a busy professional woman and forgot about herself. The years went by and she was struggling with poor health and endless aches and pains which was also effecting how she felt overall in her personal life and at work. She reached out to me asking for help about 8 years ago and here we are now and she is making sure she is getting in 3 workouts minimum a week. Is it easy ? NO. However it is also not easy to struggle with feeling your body is aging prematurely because of self neglect. Balls will drop , that is inevitable. Making sure you have the energy to keep picking them up is essential. Despite some rhetoric you actually do not have to go big or go home to start feeling better. A few 20 minute sessions a week can have you feeling improved energy levels, stronger overall, reduced discomfort like back pain which is so common and your mood will also energize! This is also why so many of my clients choose to train with me online. Time is everything. Finding the extra 15 plus minutes to drive somewhere and back , park and get in is an unnecessary obstacle for busy people . My online clients are CONSISTENT because missing sessions is drastically reduced due to the accessibiluty

Welcome to Mental Health Baby Steps Bootcamp that 30 days of delivered e- exercises.
As a part of my original career (Human services counselling) and a mental health warrior and advocate I am passionate about strengthening my own mental health and the mental health of others. This requires working your mental health muscles. There are many simples tools we can incorporate into our lives to help us improve our mental health by regulating our nervous system and creating positive outlets for coping and improved mental health. Mental health is like a continuum where on one end we can be extremely well or on the other end deeply suffering. Most people sit somewhere in there sliding towards better or more challenged mental health depending on many factors and life events. Anything from childbirth to loss of a loved one, to dissatisfaction with work or genetic disposition . Without meaningful action this can have a snowball effect on our lives. It affects our self esteem, our motivation , our parenting our relationship and our performance at work and other areas. More and more I am hearing from many clients and friends that they are feeling some or all of these feelings.

Apathy
Chronically tired
No motivation
Nothing to look forward too
Feelings of dread
Hopelessness about the future
Frustrated
Many people are doing what they can to cope in this busy world . Some are struggling to find healthy coping and defaulting to less than ideal coping . This is more common than many feel safe to admit. I do not say this with any judgement because at times I am also that person. I know what to do and have training but that does not always mean I don't fall back into old patterns on occasion.
It is always a good time to take action for myself and others and really dig into a
MENTAL HEALTH ACTION PLAN. I have put a lot of effort into the preparation of the delivery of BABY STEP tools and reflective exercises to shift your mental health in the right direction on the continuum of mental health . This Mental Health Babysteps Bootcamp is a 30 day daily support, education and tools delivery right to your email with SIMPLE tools, strategies , reflections and actions you can take for 10 minutes a day to help you get out of or avoiding getting into a funk. Some of it you may know already but I am certain there will be tools and exercises new to all. People who market waist trainers to moms infuriate me.
Lets stop normalizing pushing toxic, unhealthy, uninformed , non-factual marketing propaganda on moms. Enough is enough . It should legit be banned.
Waist trainers cause:
Difficulty breathing (Actually reduces Oxygen levels)
Weakened core.
Weakened pelvic floor.
Meralgia paresthetica.
Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms.
Rashes and infections.
Organ damage.
Prolapse.
Nerve Damage.
Instead learn how to heal and build your core function safely in a bio-mechanically sound way that speaks to the over all function of postpartum bodies in the childbearing years and beyond. Lets not market s**t messages that try to bypass that they have grown whole humans in their bodies by punching below the belt - no pun intended. But for real. Using body shaming as a marketing agenda to convince postpartum bodies to blindly use a tool that can harm their body and pressure them into by-passing the actual healing that needs to happen is criminal.

Mothers Day can be an emotional day for so many moms. While the media portrays it as chocolate and flowers and fancy lunches (and we sure hope it is for you) often times we get disappointed and some moms are grieving .

I see all of you. As a mom who has been disappointed before and also has some grief in relationship to motherhood I mean it when I say I see you. Milestones and special dates bring things up. In that sometimes we do not feel seen. My message to you today and everyday is……

SEE YOURSELF GIRL
Do what YOU need for YOU
Say NO
Put YOUR oxygen mask on.
Treat yourself with so much love and kindness.
Do NOT wait for anyone else to decide any of the above for you.
YOU MATTER

I truly hope for everyone to have a joyful day because we all deserve to feel joy. However if it is muddled with any difficult emotion give yourself space to honour that. As always if anyone needs me for support please reach out . I will always make time to give support and lend an ear.
