Stay with me… this is really boring but important…
I recently was made aware of a couple of things…
1. As a result of two brain scans (one with the dye stuff) at Sunnybrook Hospital I received a diagnosis of Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD) and after a visit with the neurologist it was also determined i also have Reversible Cerebral Vasoconstriction Syndrome (RCVD). These are both diseases that affect the arteries to your brain. You may think this is not something that will affect you… that only those with high blood pressure and cholesterol issues are at risk… I have neither. 95% of people with these diseases are middle-aged women!
2. I have had a lifetime of being emotionally dysregulated (you can call it Borderline Personality Disorder or sensitive or neuro-divergent)… whatever you want to call it it has caused me to have difficulty having relationships with other people. (Did they know there now is a scale of sensitivity test done on newborns) Here’s the thing… the more sensitive people try to communicate the greater the risk to their heart. Really… it’s called Heartbreak Syndrome and basically the stress will kill you.
From my perspective I think (1) and (2) are related. My funny arteries are caused by stress created from being a sensitive being in an unbalanced world.
I work as a yoga teacher… if any of this interests you, please reach out.
