Message to all students!
If you're like our concussion therapist, Miles, and you're on the ice wearing skates regularly, try this foot exercise to help stretch your feet & toes! This is for those who wear cleats, skates or even tight constricting shoes.
To stretch the intrinsic muscles of the foot, intertwine your fingers between your toes. This is recommended to complete while seated.
Variation 1:
- squeeze your toes into your fingers, then release
- you want your toes to feel like their are moving closer together, then relaxing into the stretch from your fingers
Variation 2:
- keeping your toes intertwined with your fingers, pull your toes up then point them down
- the hand that is holding your toes can gentle apply pressure to increase the stretch of the foot

GLAD Program restarts March 14, 2023.
Core strenth, hip range of motion, leg strength and functional ability are the four concepts trained during this exercise program.
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a very common disease. OA affects the whole joint, but more
specifically it affects the articular cartilage (the cartilage covering the ends of bones). With OA this articular cartilage becomes thin and fragile.
Currently, there is no known way of curing cartilage loss. Treatment is used to reduce symptoms and improve function of the joint. Learning about OA is part of the treatment.
Special exercises can be done to relieve pain and boost joint function. When function improves, the next step is to get more active. Being physically active can help maintain weight loss and improve overall health. These things should be done as early as possible by people who have OA.
Exercise has been shown to be the best treatment for people who have trouble with their OA. Exercise reduces pain and makes it easier for people to perform their daily activities. Being active can lead to lots of positive things like a strong heart and good overall health. It is easier to control your weight with exercise compared to without exercise.
