As a recruiter, I always coach candidates to:
🔍 Research the company
💬 Speak positively about past roles (even tough ones!)
⏳ Save benefits/comp talks for after the offer
The most surprising answer that trumped me was “I am a quick learner”. I like the revised spin.
Top 7 Interview Pitfalls:
1️⃣ "I hated my last boss/company." → Comes off as unprofessional.
2️⃣ "What does your company do?" → Shows zero preparation.
3️⃣ "I’ll take any role!" → Makes you seem desperate, not strategic.
4️⃣ "I don’t have any weaknesses." → Lack of self-awareness.
5️⃣ "How much vacation time do I get?" → Ask about benefits after the offer.
6️⃣ "I don’t have any questions." → Big red flag! Always ask something.
7️⃣ "I’m just here for the salary." → Money matters, but culture fit does too.
