This is a common theme today this week in Therapy.
Little boys always blame…instead of taking accountability. Immature women do the same….but it so often happens when a little boy becomes a husband or partner. It’s easier to just say his wife is crazy rather than take any responsibility for his lack of self awareness.
The older I get, the faster I excise these people from my life. In therapy….its more difficult. People want the relationship to work so much that they start to believe they are the problem.
Teaching accountability really needs to be part of parenting.

Patients ALL tell me that they married Narcissists. That’s not possible. The percentage of the population who are Narcissists isn’t high enough to allow EVERY marriage to have one. Comments like that are so unfair to people who really are dealing with this personality type.
If you are partnered with a Narcissist get help from someone with years of experience in dealing with them. When someone doesn’t take the time to find the true story they can do so much damage.

I see this every day in my practice. People run when they should turn towards the problem. Once you learn to face things, life changes dramatically for the better.

Boy oh boy….is this ever true.
Trying to have a meaningful friendship with someone with wounds is near impossible.
