a gentle reminder for all the dreamers and overthinkers (me 🤭): whatever is meant to happen will unfold in its own time. let nature take its course. the good karma you’re sowing will return to you—multiplied. have faith. go out, do good in your community, and stop obsessing over fixed goals—whether it’s marriage, losing the last 10 kgs, or scaling your business. life is happening now. what’s unfolding is shaping your metamorphosis. so breathe. be here. live a little. joy is in the now.

no one gets more than their destiny or before their time — and no one ever will
वक़्त से पहले और किस्मत से ज़्यादा, ना किसी को मिला है, ना किसी को मिलेगा। 🌸

not everyone will feel the pull of certain places. some energies speak only when you’re ready. india is like that for me—a calling, not a destination. you don’t experience india with your mind. it asks for your heart.

at first, it overwhelms. confuses. shakes you loose from your patterns. it holds up a mirror, shows you your shadows, and asks—are you ready to grow through this?

you have to stop analyzing. start feeling. let go of control. and in that surrender, something opens. india doesn’t let you skim the surface. it pulls you into the raw, the real, the beauty wrapped in chaos.

i teach yoga to kids who have so little, yet give so much. the kind of presence they offer—open-hearted, curious, pure—is what gets me every time. it softens parts of me i didn’t know were rigid.

i see strangers smile like we’ve always known each other. kids run up for high-fives. women welcome me with warmth while cooking over open fires. dogs, cows, even elephants walk beside me like old friends. and somewhere in the noise, there’s deep stillness.

a shared chai. a gesture of kindness. people treating me like a daughter, just because. it’s love without expectation. presence without performance.

shiva’s energy isn’t a concept. it’s a lived truth. it’s what remains when you strip everything else away. just you, this life, and the courage to show up fully.

india doesn’t just teach. it transforms.

I was born to be a dreamer. Growing up, my mind always immersed in a dreamscape, and I’m certain it’s because of my parents.

They rebelled and defied cultural norms, marrying in different religions and crafting an entirely new life on their own terms. Was that enough to make them iconoclasts? You bet!

My parents—a blend of creativity and risk-taking—built their life bit by bit, untethered from the expectations of their families and their cultures.

I consider the title “dreamer” a compliment. My parents, artists and idealists at their core, married only for love. As the iconic writer Maya Angelou states, “Love recognizes no barriers as it jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” Rightfully so...

I am composed of all the things seen, known, and experienced.
A dreamer,
A tumbleweed,
Writer,
Industrious,
Businesswoman by intention,
Artistic by natural inclination,
Spiritual Seeker.
Diving into passion projects with every bit of intensity,
Unapologetic about my decisions,
Holding strong opinions but also adaptable to life’s uncertainties.
The quintessential good Indian daughter—feisty, fearless, flawed, but with a hint of rebellion yet responsible to the core.

Learning to balance myself between two different cultures, varying approaches to life, pragmatic and the poetic, sustaining a multi-layered identity.

And with every new goalpost, every target, I sustain it with the willingness to footslog it.

I have this eternal quest to create, discover, relate, communicate, and I believe life is a journey where you don’t just arrive in a well-preserved body but you skid and perhaps break a sweat, completely worn out and say, “Life has been one hell of a ride,” marked with milestones that set your soul on fire.

Met an incredible craftswoman from Uttaranchal who’s doing amazing things. Not only does she create ‘Desi oon’ (local wool), reviving a community art form, but she also inspires kids from single-parent households to chase their dreams. She’s a local hero and a true inspiration to us all. Please consider donating to her organization - every little bit helps. Swipe for more info!

I want to share some of my Grandma’s wise teachings with you. Today, I want to share some excerpts with you in the hopes to inspire you.

• Speak your truth, even if your voice shakes. Walk your path confidently, and don’t expect anyone to understand your journey unless they have walked in your shoes.
• Life’s circumstances will break you down and test you. But you must rise like a phoenix, holding onto hope. Let hope anchor you amidst endless possibilities.
• Pay attention to those who check up on you when you are silent. They are your tribe.
• Always follow your gut feelings and take risks. In other words, live a full life with bravery in your spirit. It’s better to say “oops” than to live a life full of regret.

Tell me your 3 AM song,
The one that knows all your secrets.
Which poem touches you deep?
The words that never leave your heart.

What memory keeps playing tricks on you,
Blurring lines between then and now?
And that beat in a song,
The one that twists your gut, makes you feel alive.

Share that melody that calms you,
The one humming in your quiet moments.
Tell me about those lines you can’t forget,
The ones that hold you when you’re falling apart.

Let’s trade our favorite choruses,
Find pieces of ourselves in each other’s tunes.
In this mix of words and beats,
We’re just two souls, connecting, living.

Each step in my salwar, a soft melody,
Echoes of a heritage, timeless and free.

I carry my traditions with poise and grace,
In every crease of my suit, my roots embrace.

In me, the spirit of India dances alive,
In hues of purple, gold, a cultural hive.

An artistic daughter, a businesswomen, a bonafide friend, in every role, I excel,
My story, a saga of metamorphosis, I proudly tell.

In this Indian suit, I stand tall and resolute,
A universe of stories, from root to fruit.

This is my ode, in every heartfelt line,
A celebration of my grace and divinity.

Yoga with Disha

Yoga has been part of my life for over 10 years. I have travelled to the Himalayan Hills and National Institute of Yoga in New Delhi to complete my Yoga Teacher training.

In my classes, I incorporate breathing, meditative techniques along with postures for a holistic yoga class. I specialize in various styles: Hatha, Asthanga and Vinyasa. In addition to teaching multi-level classes, I also offer gentle Yoga for seniors, Corporate Yoga and Kids Yoga. I believe yoga is an empowering practice that is suitable for all fitness levels and I can’t wait to share that journey with you.
