At TATS, we’re psychotherapists AND art therapists, meaning we’re able to practice traditional talk therapy as well as supporting clients through creative exploration. By engaging with art materials, people are encouraged to externalize complex feelings and unconscious conflicts, allowing those feelings to be safely observed and processed alongside a trained professional.

Art therapy can help people of all ages grow by fostering emotional resilience, promoting self-acceptance, and providing a dynamic means to integrate challenging experiences into a coherent, more functional sense of self.

The snow showed up early in Toronto this year ❄️

For some, it brings calm, playfulness, excitement for the holidays, or contemplative reflection as 2025 approaches its close. For others, it stirs up feelings of isolation, overwhelm, or lowered energy/motivation.

Whatever it brings up for you, your feelings are valid.

Noticing how the weather lands in your body and mood can be a way to understand what you might need today: warmth, movement, connection, or a moment to pause.

If artmaking is part of your toolkit, this can also be a meaningful moment to put those feelings onto paper and see what they have to tell you.
