May is Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month. Join me for a special screening of "Saving Claire," a powerful 30-minute documentary about a woman, a fall, and its dramatic effects on her life, her family and friends. Following the film, is a discussion panel of local subject matter experts and exhibit tables for attendees to visit and leave with info tips and takeaways about falls prevention. I’m excited to get back into professional speaking and debut my new workshop tomorrow. The event is sold out! I am booking additional talks May 1 onwards. Private message me for more information or to schedule a date for your organization.

📚This is an evidence-based, state of the art workshop reflecting the latest exercise recommendations from the 2023 Clinical Practice Guidelines for managing low bone mass and uncomplicated osteoporosis, and preventing falls and fractures in adults ages 50+.

I became interested in and started speaking about this topic in 2012, just after my mom fell and broke her hip. Lots has happened since then:

🎯I resurrected and updated my talk and acquired specialized training in Bone Fitness, Balance and Falls Prevention.

🦴I've been navigating my own bone health journey - seeing significant improvement in my bone density, shifting from post-menopause osteoporosis to current osteopenia in my hip and spine (I hope my story and success will inspire others) 💃🏋

🏥My mother fell and broke her hip again. This happened recently, in December 2024, in the same week I updated my website to reflect my newly pivoted Bone Fitness business – for individuals mid-life onwards and older adult communities.

Have a look at my workshop and services here: www.drkimtv.com/bonehealth
(link to flyer in the comments).

If you’re ready to get bone fit and add vitality and awesomeness to your aging adventure, I cannot wait to help you get started!

Random Acts of Kindness Week (February 14-20) is a reminder to be kind and celebrate all the ways we can positively impact each other's lives. A small and random gesture of kindness can go a long way.

Pay it forward with a random act of kindness this week to help out someone in need, make someone’s day, warm someone’s heart. Share in the comments what you did and how it worked out.

I'm sharing a blog post I wrote last year about roadside kindness that restored my faith in humanity: https://www.drkimtv.com/blog/a-random-act-of-kindness-on-the-side-of-the-highway

New Year’s Resolution fail because:

All-or-Nothing Mindset: The biggest roadblock sticking with our resolutions is the mindset. This all-or-nothing, “all in or not at all” mindset. You’ve probably said to yourself, “If I don’t have 60-minutes to go the gym or do yoga, I might as well not do it at all.” Sound familiar?

Unrealistic Goal Setting: We often set resolutions that are too ambitious and difficult to achieve. Just getting started is hard enough. Building and keeping momentum is even harder when the goal is set too high.

Too much too soon: Excitement about new goals, new resolutions takes over. We become super-human and take on too much, too quickly instead of one step at a time.

Competing Priorities: Life gets in the way. You’re busy at work, chained to your desk and zapped of time and energy, making it easy to just abandon your resolutions altogether.

While you started with good intentions to take care of YOU and your well-being, self-care drops to the bottom of your “to do” list.

What would it take to make self-care the #1 priority on your list and in your busy everyday life? See links in the bio for help :)

That’s a wholehearted living wrap! I love this quote from Brene Brown’s Dare to Lead book. It reminded me of an in-person Oprah (!) talk I attended in Washington DC in 2016, where she shared that regardless of the person she interviewed - from Biance to Obama - everyone inevitably asked post-show: “Was that ok? How did I do? Did you get that?” The common theme is that we often question ourselves, as if to ask “Was i good enough” and “Do I matter”; In other words, Did you hear me? Did you see me? Did what I said mean anything to you?

We all matter and are worthy of love, connection and belonging - - when we show up as our authentic, imperfect, vulnerable self and bring meaning and joy to other’s lives.

I’m continuing the self-love theme in honor of Heart Month. I just love Brene Brown’s (“vulnerability and shame expert”) work, especially her take on wholehearted living. We all need to feel a sense of belonging and connection, which happens when we are seen, heard and valued. And it all starts with self-love.

Check out these 6 qualities to discover how to live your best life, wholeheartedly. Share in the comments what resonates with you.

Self-love and self-care are the foundations of wellness. If you don’t love yourself and take care of yourself, you can’t love and take care of somebody else. Open your heart and love yourself unconditionally, non-judgmentally and wholeheartedly. Happy Valentines and Galentines Day! What do you have planned for this special day? I’m going salsa dancing tonight 💃!
