So you've set a new goal.
You choose the time that you will work toward it.
You start taking the steps towards it.
You are excited about the possibilities this new habit will bring to your life.
It is two weeks of high energy and enthusiasm, and then…
BOOM 🔥
You begin to skip one day.
You begin to talk yourself out of the positives or this new habit.
You begin talking negatively towards yourself.
You start to believe the negative self-talk.
And then, finally, you stop working towards that new goal or habit.
Then you shame yourself for giving up.
Does this sound familiar?
I've been there 🙋🏻♀️
And I am here to tell you this:
In order to make lasting changes or develop new habits, you have to let go of your mind and get into your body.
Your nervous system creates your experiences, responses, habits, thoughts, emotions—everything.
If your body isn't on board with change- meaning you aren't working with your nervous system to get to the root cause of your self-talk or sabotage- any change you try to make will eventually feel like a threat to your nervous system.
Your nervous system registers change as a threat and puts you into survival mode—not because it doesn't want you to succeed and thrive but because it lacks the resources to support this change and shift.
So, if you want to achieve a goal, create new habits, or have a healthier mindset, you have to work the body so the body can work the mind.
The change MUST happen in the nervous system.
You have to make room, capacity, and expansion within your body so you can hold, create, build, and sustain this new change.
The body keeps the score.
The body creates your reality.
So, if you want to change your external world, you first have to change your internal one.
