The Year of the Fire Horse begins today.
And I am not entering it quietly.

I was born in the Year of the Ox.
Steady. Disciplined. Builder energy.

Ox years taught me patience.
Endurance.
How to carry weight without complaining.

But something shifted before this new year even arrived.

I released what no longer served me. Even if it was hard.
Old dynamics.
Old obligations.
Old versions of myself that tolerated less than alignment.

The Fire Horse is bold. Fast. Unapologetic.

This year feels different. Oh ya it does.

Not hustle.
Not chaos.
Not proving.
Direction.
Clarity.
Momentum with intention.

There is a difference between grinding forward
and riding forward.

One drains you.
One carries you.

2026 feels like the second.

How often do we jump to conclusions before we breathe?

Before we actually look at what’s going on inside us?

Judgment closes the heart.

Thank you, Jays, for giving us something that mattered more than the final score.
Hours spent in our media room.
Laughter, snacks, noise, and the kind of family moments that turn into stories we’ll retell for years.

That’s what it’s really about.
Building.
Bonding.
Showing up for the moments that bring us together.

You suck. You almost had it.
Not only is it disappointing, you let down so many people.

That voice in your head? It’s loud after an almost win.

I know you don’t want to hear this.
It’s all c**a positive thinking crap.

Because when you almost win, it means you lost.
Because the almost win sucks.
It hurts deep.
Because the almost win whispers,
You weren’t good enough.
Because the almost win makes you question,
Why did I even bother trying?
Because the almost win tempts you to say,
I’m never doing this again.

The Jays almost won the World Series.
Two outs away.
Bo Bichette’s almost home run.
Runners stranded.
And Alejandro Kirk’s final ground ball double play, two men still on base.

It hurts because of how much it mattered.
It mattered so much that you showed up day after day,
through the challenges, through the doubt,
through the moments you didn’t think you had anything left.

Now that you’ve felt the “almost win,”
get back to the work.
Get back to the practice.
Get back to the version of you that keeps showing up,
not because it’s easy,
but because it matters that much.

So have your moment.

When life feels heavy, remember: God makes no mistakes.

I know it isn’t easy. I know you are just tired. I know you want to give up at times.
Sometimes we get stuck in our own c**a - overthinking, replaying regrets, or questioning if we’re on the right path.

But here’s the truth: every twist, bad decision, and painful pause is shaping you not breaking you. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is random. Your story matters.

Surrender the need to control every outcome. Keep taking the next small step. Trust the timing. Trust the lessons. Trust yourself enough to keep walking, even when the road isn’t clear.
