The clowning duo Carlos & Carlitta’s variety show is circus-themed and exciting. It combines popular kids music
with sing-a-alongs, puppet skits, dancing, magic, general clown bafoonery and a lot of audience participation. Carlos provides the musical impetus leading with guitar and voice. Life size balloon props add to the fun and
dynamic atmosphere; for example, Purple People Eater culminates in the creation of a large group-created balloon
sculpture whileThe Pickle Song is accompanied with pickle hats and giant dill-pickles. Carlos engages audiences
with magical tricks and stunts that are both funny, intriguing and inevitably involve “volunteers from the audience.”
Carlitta is cheer leader, back-up singer and ukulele player. As a would-be Flamenco dancer, she demonstrates
improbable dance instructions to the audience and, “to get everyone into the act,” ends with a group dance on
bubble wrap. Large puppets make spot appearances; Sad Sam the joking hound, Petunia and Pepe are joined by a
cast of wild and domestic animal hand-puppets that the children can manipulate themselves. Balloons and Face-Painting
After the show Carlos does individual request balloon twisting creations and Carlitta moves on to face painting. With Carlitta this is a collaborative process; working with the imagination of the children to create unique results. Song List
