Good morning, Toronto. Time to practice.

I woke up sad this morning.

Sad with all that’s happening in the world.

Sad with watching what’s happening in the US.

Sad learning about what’s happening in the Ashtanga world (let’s be honest, we just have new names to name but this is not new).

Sad.

I’ve been avoiding saying anything of note on social media for the last few months. I start a post or a comment and then delete it. The constant question in my mind is, is it worth it? And more often than not the answer is NO.

The world is so triggered right now. The energy feels crispy. Like at any moment the whole thing will crack and fall apart.

And all I can think to say is:

BE BETTER

Be the reason someone smiles today.

Be the reason someone feels safe today.

Be the reason someone feels seen and heard today.

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

Ah, social media — a space where people offer curated glimpses into their lives.

Some days it’s a highlight reel, other days it’s a venting ground. Either way, it rarely tells the whole story.

Some use social platforms for connection or expression; others, for professional outreach and marketing. Consistent posting can lead to unexpected opportunities — even from people who’ve never met you in person.

But let’s not confuse visibility with vulnerability. What’s shared online is often a carefully chosen fraction of someone’s full experience.

We never truly know what someone is going through behind the screen — or behind the smile.

So… choose kindness. Choose yoga!

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

This is an oldie from the vaults of 2017! And each point still hits. (Except possibly the TV one… as a voice actor I need to watch MORE! lol)

September, for me, is a time of shifts and changes. The weather starts to change, the leaves start to turn, and things feel different.

I start getting up earlier to get as much light as possible. I change my workout routines. And my meals become more comforting and warm.

This year in particular, I’m focusing on my health. Life is way too short and much more fragile than we think.

Our bodies need us to take care of them. To listen to them when they tell us there is something wrong (not to just pop a pill and keep going). To move them intentionally daily to keep ourselves limber and strong. To nourish them with real food with easily pronounceable ingredients. And to allow them to rest when we are tired or sick.

Things can change on a dime. Start to pay attention. Really pay attention. And start to live intentionally.

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

Happy long weekend to those who celebrate 🤣 I’ll be spending time with my family, my bestie, and my wife. Resting, recharging, and getting ready to take September by storm!

How the heck is it September already?

It’s been a crazy year so far. Not at all what I had expected or planned. But we plan and the gods laugh…

But I keep going.

This year has been more about surviving than thriving. Again, not the year I had in mind. But I’ve learned a ton in the process.

I’ve learned that not every step forward is the right one. Sometimes we have to step away from what we think we want to find what we were actually looking for .

I’ve learned that people will always show you who they really are if you give them time.

And I’ve learned that we never have as much time as we think we do.

So get moving! I came here to THRIVE! And I’m gonna keep surviving until I do.

I think I’ll start with yoga. Wanna join?

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

It was my birthday yesterday and I am blown away by how many people reached out via text, phone, email, social media, etc. to wish me well. Literal hundreds 🥰

At this point in my life I only want to be around people who love me for me - warts and all. I used to waste sooooo much time trying to be liked by everyone I met. It’s such a waste of time and energy.

Focus on the people who love you.

Focus on this who see the good in you always.

Focus on those who reach out on a random night simply because you popped into their head.

Focus on the ones who stand up for you when things go sideways.

THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO MATTER.

THANK YOU to each and every one of you who took the time yesterday to make me smile 🥰

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

I don’t know about you, but I am notorious for buying “information” books and leaving them sitting unopened. Or buying online courses and FORGETTING about them.

Sound familiar? No? Just me?

It usually happens when I’m feeling ungrounded. Not sure of what my next steps are. Those poor books sometimes sit for years until they’re finally cracked open! And the courses? I have a folder on my computer of “to be done” and “done” courses… guess which one is bigger?

You know what always works? Sitting with myself quietly and asking questions. The answers don’t always come immediately but they definitely come.

We already know the answers. We just need to ask ourselves the right questions.

Maybe start with yoga!

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

I had a horrible nights sleep last night. I went to bed super early. Turned off all devices, had calming tea, read my book… all the things I normally do before bed. But after I turned off the lights, I tossed and turned for 3hrs before finally falling into a fitful sleep.

I woke up this morning feeling exhausted. The first thing I did was to mentally berate myself for not doing enough yesterday.

“I should have gone for a walk before bed. That would have saved me.”

“I shouldn’t have watched that second episode.”

“I should have had more water.”

The dreaded “should”…

Would those things have helped? Probably.

Can I change the past? No.

Can I be more mindful moving forward? Yes.

Even though I do try, I’m not always going to make the best choices. But I can start over and make better choices today.

I’m gonna start with yoga. How about you?

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

This quote spoke to me.

In my experience, people are in one of two camps when going through a period of transition.

1. You reach out to everyone and their brother for advice. You read books on empowerment. You follow “coaches” online and buy their courses (without ever doing them), and talk about it (whatever IT is) ALL THE TIME.

2. You sit with yourself, get quiet, and listen.

Both approaches can work.

But one of them shows you that you don’t trust yourself.

Why?

“The one I am becoming will catch me.”

Trust yourself. Start with yoga!

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

Mercury is back in retrograde until August 11. And dang! Is the energy strong!?!

Retrogrades are times to pause. Reflect. To pay closer attention to what needs to be released.

They can be times of change but the change is slow. Let it be.

Don’t push. Don’t force. Let the change happen incrementally so that it sticks.

Don’t push! But don’t wait.

As you start to understand what needs to be released, what needs to change, slowly start to put that into action.

Make a plan. Plant the seeds. Slowly start to make moves.

It will be frustrating and sometimes feel like you’re pushing a pull door… but keep going!

Slowly slowly… all is coming.

Good morning, Toronto! Time to practice!

Over the last few months I’ve been taking a deep dive into my business. What works. What doesn’t work. Where I need to level up. Where I need to trim down.

During last nights deep dive I engaged to create a new structure for marketing, mindset, and communication.

I was as detailed as I could be in the prompt so that the output was as focused on MY business as possible.

I can’t lie. What ChatGPT came up with was pretty incredible, even creating a basic excel CRM for tracking.

But what stood out most was this sentence at the end of the list of “to do’s”.

“You’re not starting over, Emma — you’re simply realigning with your next level.”

Sometimes change happens faster than expected. But it’s here. And I’ve had to learn the hard way that the only person coming to save me is ME. And, apparently, my new bestie ChatGPT.

Good morning, Toronto!

Time to practice! Tracy is teaching Led Primary today so I can grab some family time with my sisters and nieces. Grateful ☺️

This is a gentle reminder to all of us. I was having a conversation yesterday with a friend over coffee about focus.

What we focus on grows.

So whether that be lack or abundance. Love or indifference. Good or bad things. Whatever you focus on becomes dominant.

Focus on the ABUNDANCE that surrounds you.

Focus on LOVE.

Focus on the GOOD stuff.

I don’t know about you, but that’s what I want in my life.
