Texting may be the cause of your neck pain... TEXT NECK is a repetitive stress injury to the neck caused by holding your head in a forward and downward position while looking at your phone or tablet.
This position places excessive stress on the neck muscles and across the shoulders, it has also been linked to headaches.
Try holding your device at eye level and take frequent breaks.
If you're at risk for developing text neck, or already have these symptoms, message me to see how I can help!

Just a typical day, looking at my pretty heart cups and wondering when I will get to light these bad boys up for another round. No, I’m not a flamethrower, but I sure look like one when it’s time for some fire cupping! The element of adding fire creates a suction to hold the cup in place and remove cold from the body - which is one of the evil pathogens that I can chase away! The heat is nourishing for those who are overwhelmed, rundown and drained to give you the boost you need. It’s a fantastic massage, gentle on the fascia (thank goodness), and defineltly helps to unwind muscles that are perpetually tight and tense. And for the added bonus: the leftover marks in the shape of a heart! 💗
Summer is just around the corner to show off those heart-shaped cupping marks while wearing a backless dress or tank top. You might as well show off your radiant wellness 😊

"How long will my first chiropractic treatment take?" Depending on the injury or condition for which you are being treated, initial visits can last from 45 to 60 minutes. During this time, your chiropractor will be happy to answer questions, address concerns and explain different options to you. Subsequent visits will likely be shorter, depending on the nature of the injury and personal history.

just finished a brief talk tonight on strength training for runners! Right on Clarence!!
“When I got a text earlier this week from a client asking me to do a talk about strength training for runners, I came up with an excuse that it was being held too late at night. I later backtracked and accepted the invite because I knew these type of opportunities don't come very often. I needed to step outside my comfort zone and tackle this fear of public speaking head on.
Did the talk go the way I wanted to go? Absolutely not! But you got to start somewhere, learn from it and eventually it'll become second nature”
As my favourite saying goes..if it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.

As we begin this new year, resolutions are often on the brain 🧠. However, let’s make those resolutions into GOALS. With a goal, you can focus on the positive, and make them “SMART”. Here are some tips to keep you accountable: - Write them down
- Make them “SMART”: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Based
- Understan your WHY as it relates to why you are striving for these goals
No goal is too small to write down. One of the most satisfying things for me is checking goals off my list ✅. I have weekly, monthly and yearly goals - all of different magnitudes. Start small and work your way to something bigger!
& Happy New Year 🎇!

School is back in session today and that means proper backpack wearing should be, too! The backpack featured above, though stylish, could result in back pain. Here are some recommendations we would make to this patient: •
•
1. Straps matter! Wear both (padded) shoulder straps at all times. Hip/waist straps are also highly encouraged.
2. Select a lightweight backpack, preferably with a padded back.
3. When carrying heavy items like textbooks, DON’T; or make sure they are placed as close to the body as possible.
4. Wear the straps at an equal length and minimize the slack- wearing a pack too low can put unnecessary stress on the spine.
5. The weight of your backpack should not exceed 10-15% of the wearer’s body weight.
Backpacks are in style, but so are healthy spines- be kind to yours!

PAIN.
What is pain?
Pain is a PERCEPTION – therefore, all people FEEL and THINK 🧠 about pain differently!
Just because you feel pain in a certain area, doesn't mean that there is damage to that exact area. You are just PERCEIVING that the pain is there.
Pain is essentially an internal ALARM 🚨 system our body uses to try to protect 🥊itself. This alarm is helpful at the beginning (acute pain) to help us to avoid danger. However, if this pain alarm continues to “go off”, acute pain can become chronic pain, which is very complex.
SO, what does this all mean? There are many ways to TREAT pain! If you begin to feel your “pain alarm” going off, get it checked out. “Learning about pain can help promote healthy behaviours” – Greg Lehman
