Podcast Pause Announcement!

So You Tried to Kill Yourself, Now What? is taking a short break đź–¤

I’ve made the decision to pause new episodes until after my move in May.

This isn’t goodbye - it’s just a breather so I can protect my peace, recalibrate, and return with the fire this podcast deserves.

📦 Life is a lot right now.
đź–¤ Healing is still happening.
✨ And this podcast isn’t done - just resting.

Stay tuned. I’ll be back.

Did you know your brain has a built-in filter that decides what you focus on? It’s called the Reticular Activating System (RAS), and it’s the key to shifting your mindset. 🧠✨

When you focus on gratitude, positivity, and the little joys, your RAS helps you see more of them in your daily life. It’s science-backed proof that what you focus on grows! 🌱

And here’s the best part: you can train your RAS.

Start by practicing gratitude, setting clear goals, and curating a positive environment. The more you nurture your mindset, the more your brain will work for you - not against you!

👉🏻 What’s one thing you’re grateful for today? Let’s train that RAS together - drop it in the comments below! 💬

🎙️ Ready to learn more? Episode 4 of the podcast dives into creating a mental health toolbox to help you turn on your inner light. Listen now at [link in bio]! 🖤

🌱 Recovery isn’t a straight line - it’s a journey. 🌱

Healing isn’t about being perfect - it’s about showing up, again and again, even when it’s hard. Relapses? They don’t erase your progress; they’re part of the process. Every step you take, no matter how small, is proof of your strength.
This is why we’re talking about - a movement to help you create a personalized mental health toolbox.

From gratitude practices to building a supportive community, your tools are what make the journey possible.

💡 Remember: Healing doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.
It’s YOUR journey, and that’s what makes it powerful.

For as long as I can remember, mental health has been a constant battle in my life. Depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and suicidal ideation have weighed heavily on me. I’ve survived two su***de attempts and been hospitalized four times, including psychiatric emergency services.

Both of my attempts were through overdosing, and each time, my partner at the time called an ambulance, saving my life. On two other occasions, I was hospitalized under the mental health act after cutting my wrists and expressing intent to commit.

It’s hard to talk about this. Shame has often kept me silent, but I’ve realized that if we can’t speak about our experiences with su***de, we can’t heal from them—or help others.

As I work on creating mental health resources for others, I’ve found healing in being open about my story. Sharing has helped me process my experiences and understand that I’m not alone - and neither are you.

To anyone out there struggling: your feelings are valid, and there is help. Please know you don’t have to face this alone.

đź–¤ If this resonates with you, know that your voice matters, your story matters, and YOU matter.

Together, we can break the silence and heal.

📞 If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Call or text 9-8-8 (Canada) – Available 24/7.

💬 Comment “YOU MATTER” below if you’re ready to start the conversation. Let’s rewrite the narrative, together.

Your voice could save a life. đź–¤
