If you’ve ever found yourself rereading an email multiple times, feeling anxious after receiving minor feedback, or feeling drained from workplace social interactions… you’re not alone.

Having a sensitive nervous system is not a weakness; it simply requires clarity, safety, and the appropriate tools.

Progress at work can be subtle yet still significant. Recognizing your unique needs and honouring your feelings can lead to a more fulfilling work experience. By implementing strategies that promote self-care and establishing boundaries, you can thrive in your environment while maintaining your sensitivity as a strength.

Life can feel unbearably heavy at times, and the journey of healing is often filled with heartache and uncertainty. Some may find that their struggles with impulsivity, anxiety, and depression linger long after they hope for relief, leaving them feeling isolated and weary. It's important to acknowledge that every person's path is unique, and while some may experience gradual improvements, others may feel stuck in a cycle of pain. In these moments, it's okay to sit with your sadness, to let it wash over you, and to remember that even in the darkest times, you are not alone. Your healing is not a one-size-fits-all. It’s your practice, your life, your journey. And every step forward matters. 💛

Suppressing your feelings may have some benefits, but it can also harm your relationships with loved ones. The first step towards change is acknowledging your desire for it. For people who are keeping their feelings to themselves, telling the truth, either to themselves or to a close friend or family member, can change their lives. By openly discussing your feelings, you foster deeper connections and cultivate greater understanding and support. Sharing your struggles not only alleviates the burden of isolation but also encourages others to share their feelings, creating a more open and nurturing environment. This exchange can significantly transform relationships, facilitating healing and growth for both parties. Ultimately, embracing vulnerability enriches our personal lives and builds a community where empathy and compassion can flourish.

Trusting yourself starts with trusting your instincts. It’s an internal shift. It’s the moment you learn to override the old voices that make you doubt your power.

Stand in your confidence and remind yourself:
“I am capable. I can attract anything I want and the life I want for me.”

This isn’t about indecision. It’s about intentionality. You may feel sadness. You may feel disconnected. And it’s okay to acknowledge that grief. But never forget this truth: you are allowed. You are allowed, fully and completely.

When you stop trying to fit into the old molds, you’ll begin to spread your wings like the butterfly you are. You’ll create new, fulfilling connections. You’ll build a life that feels rich and aligned.

Allow yourself to be the gift you were born to be. Your life is here to be lived.

I had the privilege of engaging in a meaningful dialogue with Andrea Paquette, the founder of the Stigma-Free Mental Health Society. We explored the significance of maintaining an open heart in a challenging world and discussed how healing necessitates a balance of both gentleness and resilience.

During our conversation, we reflected on my ten-year journey of confronting stigma and promoting hope on a global scale, underscoring the profound resilience, compassion, and courage required in mental health advocacy.

There are moments in life when surrender is the wisest choice. Surrender is not a sign of failure, but rather an act of deep faith in something greater than myself. Surrender is not passive. It is powerful. When I step back from chaos and release the need to control outcomes, I create space for real change to unfold.

As I loosen my grip, something profound shifts within me. I stop wrestling with life. I stop gripping the reins so tightly. I soften. And in that softening, I discover a strength that force could never access.

When I allow life to transform me, the change reaches places control never could. I trade anxiety for clarity, tension for truth, and frustration for a calm, grounded joy. Each transformation becomes a turning point, a quiet revolution within.

And through this work, alongside my clients and the wider world, I hope we remember that true strength is not found in fighting each other or resisting life itself. It is found in walking together, guided by love, toward what is real.

Gaining an understanding of your thoughts is the first step in regaining control of your feelings, relationships, and sense of who you are as a person. It is possible to begin to question and replace destructive beliefs with more positive ones once you have gained an awareness of the thought patterns that you have been engaging in. Your mental health will improve over time as a consequence of this change, and the quality of your relationships will improve as well. In the end, developing your self-awareness gives you the ability to face the challenges that life throws at you with strength and self-assurance. This shift has the potential to further your personal development and improve the quality of your relationships if you maintain an open mind about it.

The experience of living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can create the impression that an individual's mind and body operate at frequencies that are distinct from one another. Dissociation, a protective mechanism, is defined by a sense of disconnection from oneself, one's emotions, or reality. However, it has the capacity to exacerbate the already challenging and demanding nature of daily life. The elimination of dissociation is not necessary for the healing process; rather, it necessitates the development of resilience, the cultivation of self-connection, and the acquisition of the ability to remain grounded.

My heart yearns for a society that truly values diversity and uniqueness. Stereotypes would not limit this ideal world; instead, it would celebrate each person's distinct attributes. Stigma would not impede understanding. Each person's road to recovery is unique and marked by different encounters, speeds, and routes.

This acceptance will nurture a vibrant tapestry of diversity, paving the way for innovation and creativity to thrive. People would gather in this environment to share ideas and learn. In such an environment, the richness of varied perspectives would lead to groundbreaking solutions and advancements. This synergy would enhance individual growth and strengthen communities, fostering a collective resilience that empowers everyone to reach their full potential.

On December 11, 2025, I had the privilege of being asked to be a part of a public lecture moderated by Shawn Fisk, hosted by the Ottawa Network for BPD. The discussion panel brought together individuals with lived experience of borderline personality disorder—Lauren Latrielle, Allan Scott, and Jaden Croucher—to share their insights not only on navigating the healthcare system but on the human experience behind it. The conversation went beyond stereotypes and clinical definitions, highlighting the resilience, wisdom, and realities of living with BPD. I want to sincerely thank Shawn Fisk, Lauren Latrielle, Allan Scott, and Jaden Croucher for this inspiring discussion, and for inviting all of us to listen, learn, and reflect on what it truly means to offer care, support, and respect to people living with BPD.

This is our second blog post, and it’s all about supporting a loved one with BPD.

Supporting someone with BPD is not always easy, but your patience, understanding, and compassion make a world of difference. Every person’s journey is unique, and every moment of care matters. Validation, healthy boundaries, and open communication help your loved one feel seen and supported while also protecting your well-being. It's important to educate yourself on the challenges they face and to seek resources that can guide you in providing the best support possible. Remember, taking care of yourself is just as vital as being there for them, as it enables you to be a more effective and empathetic support system. There is hope, growth is possible, and you are not alone in this journey. Your love and presence truly matter.

After ten years of dedicating myself to understanding my diagnosis and now being a therapist, trust still sometimes feels shaky. Even when we intellectually know we are safe, our experiences, nervous system patterns, and repeated moments of hurt shape how closeness feels. We can feel fear, doubt, or even a sense of paranoia.

Building trust is not about willpower or rushing the process. It is about recognizing that we can grow through consistency, safe experiences, responsive communication, and patience with ourselves and others. With understanding, care, and repeated small moments of safety, trust can deepen and relationships can feel secure.

You can make it through this.
