Let's be real....we all know l**e, but do we actually know l**e? 🤔

In this week's P2P Quickie Quiz, we broke down l**e 101 – what it is, why it's used, and how many options are actually out there. From different types to flavours and where to find it, this mini-series is here for make s*x talk less awkward and way more informed. 🫶🏻
Because learning about s*xual health shouldn't be uncomfortable.

“From building a website from zero to learning professional language, these are skills that really matter.”
— Victor Gomez, YESS Programme Trainee

Last Friday we wrapped up our 6 week training phase of the YESS Programme. 🎉

Over the past few weeks, the graduates showed up ready to learn — even when things felt new or uncomfortable! Some highlights included becoming more comfortable with digital tools like excel, to learning how to navigate diversity in professional spaces, all the while growing confidence and many professional tools along the way.

They’re now stepping into their roles at LetsStopAIDS and more prepared than when they started — and that’s something worth celebrating. 🥳

Some things are only awkward because we were taught to whisper about them.

- Buying condoms? That’s just taking care of yourself.
- Answering s*xual health questions at the doctor’s office (even with your mom right there)? Honest answers mean better care.
- Asking for a tampon? Periods are biology, not secrets.
- Getting tested? Knowing your status is responsible, not shameful.
- And being asked if you’re pregnant when you’re a le***an? That’s a reminder that healthcare still needs to unlearn assumptions.

None of this is embarrassing — stigma is. Let’s drop it.
What else do you think shouldn’t be awkward? Tell us in the comments or DM us 💬

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT!💡
Meet Rey 🍿

Rey is a Junior Programme Coordinator for NoTimeToWait and The Winning Seed. As a natural community-builder, Rey loves bringing people together and turning ideas into action. A proud organization & consistency queen, she plans with care—and improvises when transit has other plans.

Inspired by Jyn Erso’s reminder that choice matters, Rey leads with curiosity, courage, and heart. With a Global Affairs degree and a love for languages, travel, and good food, she’s always chasing meaningful connections.

Off-duty? Catch her in TIFF rush lines, at a musical, or battling a claw machine 🎬🎭
Rey makes the work (and the vibes) better.

2026, we see you 👀✨

This new year, we came together as a team to put our hopes, goals, and commitments into one shared vision. From meaningful partnerships with boards and organizations to in-office skills development workshops, this board represents where we’re going — and why the work matters.

Different roles, one mission. Same commitment to the HIV response.

Our Peer-to-Peer (P2P) team shows up where trust, honesty, and care come first 🤝✨

And every time, youth remind us why safe spaces to talk about s*xual health matter 💬💙

Fear and uncertainty often grow from misinformation and unanswered questions around STBBIs and HIV 📚😔

That’s where peer education steps in — replacing fear with facts, care, and confidence 🚀

P2P is about judgment-free, youth-led spaces where curiosity is welcomed, learning happens at your own pace, and everyone feels supported 🌱

Because informed youth are empowered youth — and that changes everything 💪🌍

“Including NGO voices in UNAIDS isn’t a gesture — it’s essential to the strength and credibility of the Joint Programme.”

A strong start to the UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board meeting in Brazil 🇧🇷

Our founder Shamin joined Winnie and global leaders in pushing for a responsible transition of UNAIDS — one that prioritizes community leadership and real accountability.

When communities are present at global decision-making tables, the HIV response becomes more trusted, more grounded, and more impactful for people living with and at risk of HIV.

Last week, our Peer-to-Peer (P2P) team spent the day at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate, delivering fast-paced, interactive workshops 👥✨

Through games, challenges, and open conversations, students asked questions that don’t always get space in traditional classrooms — from how naloxone works, to mixing substances with alcohol, to safer s*x options.

These conversations matter. Access to accurate, judgment-free information helps young people make informed decisions about their s*xual health, mental well-being, and safety.

We’re committed to expanding youth-centred, comprehensive s*x-ed across Canada.
