Piezoelectric rhinoplasty, also known as ultrasonic rhinoplasty, uses high-speed ultrasonic sound waves to precisely cut and shave bone and dense cartilage in the nose without damaging surrounding soft nose tissue. This can be used in both open rhinoplasty and closed rhinoplasty under general anesthesia. While instruments such as rasps and chisels are effective in reshaping the nasal anatomy and have been used for many years, they can also create additional trauma to surrounding tissues. This can contribute to swelling, bleeding, and even additional scarring in some cases.
This is the newest technology we use here at AuriaMed and there are few plastic surgeons around the world who offer this technology.
