🦋 Here’s some good news: you don’t have to lie down on your mat to work your core! Try this functional kneeling set instead. You’ll improve your balance and overall body strength, without compromising your neck and lower back. Enjoy, and have a Terrific Tuesday!
🦋 Movement Menu
🦋 With your arms extended from your shoulders, reach your hand toward the floor beside you. Tuck your abdominals, and keep the foot of your extended leg firmly planted on the floor.
🦋 With arms overhead, curve your torso laterally. Imagine there’s a wall behind you.
🦋 Add a rotation to the last movement. Keep your spine and extended leg long, and your shoulders down away from your ears.
🦋 Gently move your torso from side to side, feeling a delicious stretch through your rib cage!
🦋 Repeat on your second side.
🦋 Trainer’s Tips: Think “long and strong” throughout your entire body as you perform this set.
🦋 Listen carefully to your body; stay in a range of motion that’s comfortable for you.
🦋 Breathe, breathe, breathe!
🦋 If your supporting knee is unhappy, cushion it with a soft towel, or fold your mat underneath it.
