We will be lighting a candle tonight to honour every little heart that left us too soon.

Today is pregnancy and infant loss awareness day- when we remember that 1 in 4 families experience this devastating grief, through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, medical termination, loss in the newborn period, or stillbirth.

These experiences deserve to be talked about. We send love and peace to those walking through the grief of losing a child. We know it’s an incredibly hard road, and we send you grace as you navigate it. 🌱

Your body holds ancient wisdom — it knows how to grow, birth, and nourish your baby.
This week, take a deep breath and trust in that wisdom. 💕

Birth isn’t about perfection or control — it’s about trust.
Every surge, breath, and pause is part of the rhythm that brings your baby closer to your arms.

✨ Repeat after us: I was made for this. 🌱

Save this for when you need a confidence boost before birth.

🧡 Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and the families and communities who carry this legacy.

As white women who descend from settlers, we recognize our responsibility to listen, to learn, and to act. The Calls to Action remind us of the urgent need for culturally safe care and for honouring Indigenous knowledge keepers. In birth and parenting, this means respecting the wisdom that has always been here and supporting the return of birth and healing to the land.

We walk with humility, knowing reconciliation is ongoing work. We commit to listening, unlearning, and fostering good relationships rooted in respect, truth, and love.

🧡

💤 Tired? Us too. If you’ve ever wondered whether your baby ‘should’ be sleeping longer, you’re not alone.
The truth is: night waking is normal. Babies wake for safety, feeding, and connection.
Instead of chasing perfection, try focusing on:
✨ Creating a soothing bedtime routine for your baby and yourself
✨ Keeping sleep spaces safe (flat, firm, clutter-free)
✨ Resting when you can… prioritizing your rest is not selfish!

You’re doing incredible—even if it doesn’t always feel like it. 💛

📌 Save this for later, and share with another parent who needs the reminder.

When it comes to labour and birth, it really can be all the small things that work together to get baby in a good position. And when baby’s in a good position, we can contract stronger, with better efficiency, and sometimes even less discomfort (‼️).

So when contractions start, or even in those days leading up to labour when you KNOW baby has to come SOMETIME soon, you can try these positions to help baby get into a good spot. Forward leaning/ tabletop positions, lunge or psoas stretches, and positions that put your pelvis a little off-sides like curb walking or having one foot up on a stool or stair can all help! These can be done once contractions have started, or while you’re still waiting for the big event.

⚠️Always check with your provider if you have any health conditions along with your pregnancy to determine if these are right for you!

Did you do any labour warmup? Do you think it helped your labour progress ? 👇🏼

It’s Thirsty Thursday and we’re talking tummy size!

It’s true! Your baby’s tummy holds about 5 mL, or a teaspoon, on their first day of life. This is one of the reasons they need to eat so often- about 8-12 times in 24 hours- when they are new.

This small tummy size is also why we don’t worry about a full milk production in the first few days- colostrum is typically all that those little tummies need to fill up.

Baby’s tummy will grow along with your milk supply as your milk transitions to mature milk, and will eventually grow to hold about 1-2 ounces by about the end of their second week of life. By around 6 weeks, your milk production should be perfectly tailored to your baby’s needs, and should stay at relatively the same volume until you start to introduce solids at around 6 months of age.

Of course, always check in with your healthcare provider about your baby’s specific health! If you have any questions about your baby’s intake or need to supplement, please discuss with their healthcare provider 🌱

💫 Sometimes, it’s the smallest shifts that create the biggest changes during labour and birth.

Here are 3 simple things you can try:
1️⃣ Change positions often – Movement can help your baby find the best position for birth and help ease pain and tension.
2️⃣ Breathe low and slow – Deep belly breathing keeps you grounded and helps your muscles relax.
3️⃣ Relax your jaw – A relaxed jaw helps relax the pelvic floor (yes, they’re connected!).

Your body was made for this. We’re just here to guide you 🌱✨

is all wrapped up for another year 🤍

We know that this week can come with so many emotions for us: feelings of pride and happiness; grief and loss. Our social media feeds are filled with breastfeeding content, and we know that breastfeeding doesn’t always go as planned for so many reasons.

So we are coming here to say please be so proud of yourself, however feeding is going. If you are working through a rough spot, packing up the pump, or just latching for the first time, know that we see you. Feeding a baby in any way takes work, time, and so much thought. You have to do what works for your family- and we do mean all of your family, which includes you 🤍
