You can still be happy amidst all the pain in the air right now. Don't dim yourself to accommodate others- they NEED your light. Your light shines even when you feel sh*tty- don't take on their stuff- you have enough of your own! When you stand in yourSelf in this very moment, you'll see how beautiful your life is. Joy loves company too! Hold your Light, be a beacon for those in the dark. Remember how beautiful it was when you followed the Light to get out of your darkness? Do the same for those around you. Keep the Light going, and take your turn following the light when you need it.
Take a moment to find the beauty even in the smallest of things- the first sip of coffee, that one sparkly snowflake, the fuzzy pompom on someone's toque, the green light, warm socks, your dishwasher...
You matter ♥️

Completely relatable- anyone else?

TO THE WOMAN WHO HAS TAKEN TOO MUCH…

To the woman who has given too much.
To the woman who has no idea how she will keep going like this, every day.

I see you.

I see how exhausted you are.
I see your desire to run for the hills without a care in the world.

And I know that if you did so,
the world which you have created,
would collapse, without you.

So, of course, that is not an option.

And I know, just how oppressive the weight of that can be.
How suffocating it is.
How scary that feels sometimes.

And I also know, how grateful you are for this load you carry.
For it’s everything you need and yet all that consumes you.

And that’s ok.

It is okay to feel weary, even when the weight is that of your blessings.
It is still heavy to carry.

There is no space for shame in that load of yours.
No space for guilt, no space for perfection.
Set those down.

Lighten your load of those things.

Next, take out the need to conform to others’ expectations.
And gather up all the past mistakes. And the worries for the future.

They can all go.

Lastly, the spaces you have just made should be filled with rest, for rest is very much doing.
And then add in your joy.

And whatever space is left, leave it there.

Ready for new things, which will show up as soon as they see their space waiting.

It’s high time.

What if it were ok to not be ok? For 5 minutes? For one hour? For one day? What happens if you allow yourself to say "This sucks. Right now, it all just sucks."
This is how I get through my hard times. Lots of crying, chips and sleeping, some days no shower, some weeks not a single vegetable.

This is hard to admit, especially as a nurse. As someone who is helping others get through their hard times. I have hard times too! I have a team of helpers and healers and everyone of them has their own team of helpers and healers. Sometimes we need more help than we can give ourselves.

It can feel embarassing to say "I need help". I have hard moments, hard weeks, and lately a really tough 6 months with unimaginable losses and pain.

Last month, I actually had a 4 day stint where I hadn't showered and only slept on the couch, and ate mostly chips. I felt so much shame for doing this, but on the 4th day I realized how difficult times actually were. I cried, allowed myself to admit I was drowning. Then I got up and took a shower and ate some food. Circumstances haven't changed, but admitting how low I was, it was freeing.
Why am I telling you this?! I don't know. Spirit told me to lol. But really, I'm seeing so many people struggle right now, too embarrassed and ashamed to ask for help.

Life doesn't have to suck for ever, but it's ok if it sucks right now. We're all doing our best in any given moment, doing what we can to get through it. You're not alone. ❤️

Hi there! I wanted to do a little intro to tell you about my new adventure! Those who know me know that I've been a nurse for over 20 years and fully embrace a holistically centered mindset. I recently opened up an independent nurse coaching practice!! Conscious Heart Nursing! All those night shift discussions and dreams about finding a way to nurse more proactively and holistically have come to be! Everything I've been doing and learning about over many years has found a place to meet!
A couple of things about me:

-I have been a cardiac care nurse at St.Mary's Hospital for over 20 years

-I am a CIINDE Certified Holistic Nurse Coach-Nurses are SO equipped to guide and assist in healing... hands down

-I do hands on healing and am training in REIKI and EFT

-I make grounding in nature a priority. I use common weeds, plants and flowers to make herbal remedies to support my health, family and friends. I am a nurse herbalist! Plants have wisdom to share and we can learn from them.

-my new obsession is sprouting and fermenting

-I believe we all must be aware of our energy body. Our mind, emotions, energy, spiritual and physical state are 100% connected-so self awareness is something I value

-I feel it is imperative that we teach our kids, ALL kids the tools they need to remain connected, confident and love themselves fiercely, to help them navigate this world even in the tiniest of ways

I'm a Blomberg Rhythmic Movement Consultant! I assist children and adults with reflex integration. This supports a multitude of imbalances from anxiety, emotions, learning challenges, and stuck patterns www.brmtcanada.com

Phew! this was a VERY uncomfortable exercise doing something new sharing this journey but I feel intuitively led so I KNOW on the right path!
I'm amazed by all aspects of the heart and this is why Conscious Heart Nursing now has a HEARTBEAT! I'm currently taking new clients so share with your friends, DM or email me if you want to learn more!

Spring has officially sorung and one of the first signs are the beautiful snowdrop flowers emerging underneath the lingering snow.The essence of this flower offers us hope and positivity where there has been lingering weariness and despair. How amazing is it that this delicate little flower can withstand freezing temperatures and present so perfectly? Fun fact-snowdrops have their own inner heating system and warm their surroundings. Spring is a good time to check in with yourself. Invite the essence and energy of the snowdrop within this spring- hope and positivity is needed now more than ever. Connecting with the flowers and plants around you is an opportunity to learn something new about the plant, your community AND about yourself. I love this so much… I helps me look forward to all things spring (as I shoveled the heaviest snow of the season over top of all the hidden garlic and and spring bulbs) It feels like the longest winter in a long time but I am embracing it!

It’s heart month! The month of Love AND cardiovascular health promotion! If your body was a country your heart would be the capital city, pumping blood around major and minor highways as a means for transportation of nutrients, oxygen from the lungs, feeding your cells with vitality. Heart disease is a silent killer so we must reduce our risk at all cost…in turn we help all our other systems.
Here are a few basics:

1) Move your body - regular exercise is linked to lower blood pressure, healthy cholesterol levels, improves metabolism and keep energy flowing. This could be walking, running, walking, Zumba…anything that gets your heart pumping greater than your resting state.(considering limitations)
2) Mind-body Balance
Meditation, breath work, tai chi etc. have been shown to reduce heart damaging stress in the body.
3) nourish your body with hearth healthy foods. This is an age old debate as to diet wars but I feel that know matter what your diet consists of, the addition of plant rich meals will only be for the better! Fruit and veggies from all the colours of the rainbow, beans, nuts, seeds and sprouts will nourish your heart health. Red HeartTea:
1 teaspoon each of:
Rose petals Dried hibiscus flowers Lemon balm. Hawthorn berry. Steep for 5-10 minutes enjoy this heart tonic with heart healing herbs. Adapted from Maria Noel Groves- Body into Balance

Reminder to nourish yourself with the healing properties of plants. Increase your plant diversity and make your gut happy! My soup is what I’m now calling ‘clean out the refrigerator ramen’ haha! with the addition of broccoli sprouts on top - good for us and the fridge! The books I’m nourishing my brain with. Reading 30 mins uninterrupted (how hard can it be? Surprisingly hard!)
