With summer upon us, our physicians will be taking some well earned time away from clinic intermittently throughout the summer. Consequently, appointment wait times may be a little longer than what many patients are used to. Please keep this in mind when you’re booking anticipated visits for things like prescription refills and routine follow up. It would be recommended to book these well in advance.

And, as always, respecting our front staff is of the utmost importance. They do their best to connect you with your physician in a timely manner, but can’t create appointments when there are no physicians available.

A great step forward in cancer prevention and screening in Newfoundland and Labrador!

Adults 40-74 years of age can now self-refer for breast screening, and adults 50-74 years of age can self-refer for colon screening through the MyHealthNL app.

Once a self-referral is made, you will either receive an appointment letter in the mail, or a follow up call with your appointment time. It could not be easier!

Our clinic has a couple of our physicians unexpectedly requiring a couple weeks away from practice. Please anticipate and be patient with the administrative staff as it is beyond their capability to create appointments that we simply do not have.

Please see your pharmacist for prescription refills to take you until your next scheduled appointment when possible.

We appreciate that this is difficult for folks, but would also really appreciate your patience.

NOTICE: The Shea Heights Community Health Centre is closed for today, Friday June 28 to allow for essential electrical work. We will also be closed on Monday for the Memorial/Canada Day holiday. Clinics will resume as scheduled on Tuesday July 2.
A reminder that there is a Family Physician on call for limited hours on the weekend. To speak to them, phone the clinic and listen to the directions in the message.
