Hey everyone! I thought I would take this opportunity to give you all a life update. I’ve recently made a huge decision to move out to Vancouver! I wanted to formally let you all know that Embody Health and Fitness will no longer be operating out of the Edmonton/Sherwood Park area as of October 1st, 2023.

It’s bittersweet for sure and I’m going to miss so many of you but I’m excited for the next step. I want to thank each and every one of you who has supported me over the past two years. Special thanks to .wellness and for being amazing mentors and still teaching me new things to this day. Thank you to , dad, , .m.music , .jessica , and for supporting me early on in this business endeavour, investing your time, and showing up for me. Lastly, thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone and getting me to realize that change isn’t always so bad.

As for my close friends and clients who have supported me all this time, I’m going to miss the conversations and the laughs we’ve all shared in person. People don’t always accept me for me and that can be challenging in a business like this. So thank you all for taking a chance on me 🥰 You’re all so amazing, capable, and strong, and you’re only going to continue to do amazing things. Not just in your future training sessions, but in life. All the sweat and hard work over the years speaks for itself! 💪

I hope that I’ve helped you all learn to appreciate yourselves and realize what you’re capable of. It’s not just lifting heavy things and working out, it’s about building self worth through activities that you enjoy.

That was the goal all along 😌💕 it’s time to move my business to the west coast and inspire more people to embody a more honest and real active lifestyle. Stay tuned for updates and if you know anyone who is looking for a trainer in the Vancouver/Burnaby/Coquitlam area, tell them to reach out!

Hey everyone! I will be running two weekly strength training group classes on Thursdays and Saturdays starting on January 19th and January 21st at Integro Wellness Studio. There will be 4-5 people in each grouping and it will be $20 per person. We will be learning the fundamentals of strength training, how to lift properly, and build confidence in the gym. So if you’re new to the gym this is the perfect time to join in and get some physical activity in!

This is not a “get your dream bikini bod for the summer” post because I find that type of marketing rather toxic and unrealistic but it’s more of a hey if you have a little more time on your hands and you want to get stronger this summer, working out is fun and good for your health (mentally and physically) 😊 I’ve also made it so easy to book with me so if you are thinking about it, click on the link in my bio!

I am super chill, nonjudgemental, each session plan is different, and I make sure to train within an intensity that you are COMFORTABLE with. I offer high and low intensity strength training, athletic training, cardiovascular endurance training, weight loss training, and mobility training. Make sure to share this with your friends and family in the Edmonton/Sherwood Park/Fort Saskatchewan area and I hope to see some of you at the gym!

Let me paint a familiar picture for you:

You're scrolling through Tiktok, Instagram, Pinterest - whatever your social media fancy is - and you come across the “do these 3 exercises for 2 weeks, and you’ll see LIFE CHANGING results" type of video.

These quick fix videos set up an unrealistic end goal with an even more unrealistic time frame. Some people MIGHT see some tone or muscular gains from these types of workouts, but the majority of people won't. Everyone responds to working out differently and most of these videos don’t consider the strength, fitness ability, genetics, mobility or workout experience that a person has. Seeing results in 2 weeks for one person could be 4-6 weeks for another person.

More over, these videos can mess with our minds. If we don’t see results immediately, we can get discouraged and create a negative association with fitness (I’ve been there 🙋🏻‍♀️). Most of us already feel pressure on some level to look a certain way or participate in diet culture. Society has come such a long way in promoting body positivity and self love and yet we still see so much content that is telling us to change the way we look.

My tips are to review the fitness content you are scrolling through and determine whether it aligns with your goals or not. Also make sure the content you are seeing is being presented by someone who has the appropriate credentials for what they are speaking on.

These videos may seem like a quick solution to meet your goals but, fitness, growth, self love, happiness, seeing progress, and loving the process takes more than just 2 weeks. It’s a different process for everyone and it requires MULTIPLE workout sessions and MULTIPLE different exercises to see progress. We can’t lose sight of what works best for our bodies. We are all wonderfully unique and we all have our own needs/goals.

Hey everyone, this month I will be switching to online group classes! I’m offering 4 classes this month on January 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st all through zoom at 6:00pm. These group sessions will be no equipment, full body HIIT sessions so all you would need at home is a mat, water bottle, towel and a space to workout in! Hey everyone, exciting news! I’m taking a continuing education course on Mental Health & Exercise! As most of you know, I have lived with an anxiety disorder my entire life and I could not be more thrilled to dive in and learn more about the relationship between exercise and mental health. Exercise has always been therapeutic for me throughout my journey with anxiety and I wanted to get on here and tell you this great news as well as give a little insight as to how anxiety can truly feel.

Anxiety isn’t just being “stressed”, it isn’t just being “worried”, it’s a multitude of emotions and feelings that are based on triggers in the external world as well as our own internal thoughts. Some days I experience unrelenting mental thoughts related to sadness, anger, jealousy, or feelings of inadequacy based on events that carry out throughout the day.

My mind usually runs on one tangent for hours or sometimes days which can completely throw off my entire outlook or mood. Having unresolved feelings, not being able to discuss my thoughts, or being bombarded by constant outside triggers can send me spiralling into a dark place.

Many people look at anxiety like it’s a frame of thinking or that it can be easily cured but that’s not the case. You never know what someone may be going through or how bad they are affected by a mental illness. I encourage you to reach out to friends and family more often and talk about your feelings with each other. We are so much stronger when we come together and you could help someone out so much by having one simple conversation ❤️
