Class Description
Exploration of Movement Patterns
An experiential class that adds a dynamic dimension to the Ortho-Bionomy release techniques. Focusing on the range of motion through the joints, the participants explore and support preferred patterns of movement or non-movement. By gently exploring and supporting these patterns, and with the active participation of the client, the range of motion in the joint is increased and muscular joint and pain are diminished.

At last, it’s time to open and begin our new normal. I’m ready to accept clients for sessions and am in the process of booking a couple of classes for students who have been patiently waiting. I have a nice space here in Cochrane where we can do a class outdoors, which seems like a great way to start back again.

I’ll be posting the first class on our ortho-bionomy.ca class calendar and also here in the next couple of days.

You can contact me through this site if you don’t have my info. I look forward to connecting with you again after this long spell.

Blessings, Rhoda

Ortho-Bionomy was developed by combining the structural principles from Osteopathy with energetic and philosophical concepts from the Martial Arts and Homeopathy.

Hello my friends, clients, and students. Throughout this pandemic I have been missing you all. I haven’t posted information because I’m not sure what’s happening from day to day like everyone else.

I’m still here but have not been seeing clients nor advertising classes for obvious reasons.

I do hope you are keeping well and I will post any updates as to when things open up again.

If I can assist you with suggestions through Ortho-Bionomy Self-Care in releasing areas of pain or tension, please contact me. I would be happy to help.

Stay safe and well. Remember, your body has the wisdom to self-correct, physically and emotionally. Ortho-Bionomy can help you in that journey.

I look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Sincerely, Rhoda

Testimonial
“Ortho-Bionomy is one of the most exciting tools that I have come across. Those who know me personally are aware of my supreme enthusiasm for it! I have experienced first-hand and have witnessed many things that some would consider miracles. Those “miracles” simply put, are just the therapeutic and lasting effects that Ortho-Bionomy can provide. From chronic or acute pain, structural alignment issues. Pain from surgery all relieved, if not gone after just 1 session.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE!

I took my first weekend Ortho-Bionomy class on the spur of the moment, at a time in my life when most people are considering retirement. My life consisted of work totally unrelated to bodywork and had had no experience in this field.

By the end of the second day, I was so totally taken by the information I had received and the work I got to do and experience that I knew I had to learn more. “Just think of all the good I could do and the people I could help with this knowledge!” I never looked back from there.

I went on to take many more classes and before I knew it I had earned my Practitioner’s Certificate and here I am, 19 years later, still loving what I do and teaching others.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE to start a new career or add to the work you’re doing now. It’s a wonderful thing to love what you do! 💕

Another client testimonial.

"I started having Ortho-bionomy sessions about 6 months after foot surgery. I was having problems with maintaining my balance and had various kinds of treatments to correct the problem, none of which were successful over time.

When I heard about Ortho-bionomy, I was quite skeptical but felt that I had nothing to lose considering the other therapies I had tried. After the first session, I was so relaxed and the treatment was so gentle, that I was convinced it would not help my balance difficulties; however, I did decide to try one more session.

To my utter amazement, my balance was restored after the 2nd session and I have not had problems with my balance in the last 5 years.

I have continued the Ortho-bionomy sessions for various other difficulties and continue to have regular “tune up” sessions.

I would highly recommend Ortho-bionomy as a gentle and effective way of aligning and re-adjusting the physical body and energy flow."

Summer Class. August 6-7, Cochrane AB

BASIC ORTHO-BIONOMY - An excellent beginning level.

The techniques and principles you learn in this class, can be incorporated into your practice and your life immediately.

Ortho-Bionomy is an elegant form of body-work that operates from the notion that healing evolves from within. This gentle, non-invasive, osteopathically-based form of body therapy is highly effective in working with chronic stress, injuries and pains or problems associated with postural and structural imbalances.

This foundation class covers the history, philosophy and concepts of Ortho-Bionomy, and provides a basic understanding of the release techniques for each major joint in the body. The techniques are comfortable for the client and easy on the practitioner. They stimulate the inherent self-corrective reflexes of the body by affecting the proprioceptive nerves, resulting in the release of muscular tension, a reduction in overall stress, normalization of structural alignment, and a new sense of internal balance for the client.
This is a stand-alone therapy and also integrates easily with other wholistic modalities.

There are no pre-requisites for this class.
