Not all depression looks like staying in bed or crying all day.

Sometimes it looks like doing everything right, working full time, parenting, showing up, all while feeling empty inside.

That’s high-functioning depression. The kind that hides in plain sight.

It’s the kind that hides behind achievement, routine, and responsibility.

You’re smiling, but not feeling joy.
You’re moving, but not moving forward.

It’s real, it’s valid, and it deserves attention and care.
If this feels familiar, please know, you’re not alone

At GraceNorth, we’re here to open the conversation and remind you that even the strongest people need support sometimes.

Therapy terms aren’t meant to confuse or complicate things. They’re just ways to put words to real human experiences and tools that can actually help.

👻 Don’t ghost your mental health! 👻

It’s tempting to ghost those tough feelings, but avoiding them won’t make them disappear.

This Halloween, take a moment to check in with yourself instead of leaving your mental health on read. 🎃💭

Facing your feelings doesn’t have to be scary, therapy can help you work through whatever’s been haunting you. 💬✨

Parenting isn’t about getting it right all the time, it’s about how we come back together after the hard moments. 💛

We all have ruptures, those moments we lose patience, say something sharp, or shut down. What matters most is what happens next: the repair.

Our Rupture and Repair Workshop will explore:
✨ How to recognize moments of disconnection with
your child
✨ Why shame shows up after ruptures (and how to
soften it)
✨ Practical tools for gentle repair and rebuilding
closeness
✨ How to have calm, caring conversations that help
your child feel understood
✨ Ways to support your nervous system so you can
stay grounded and present

This workshop is a gentle, supportive space to learn, reflect, and practice connecting in deeper, more loving ways, with your child and with yourself.

We all have moments we wish we could take back.
The ones that make our stomach drop the second they happen.

But repair is where the healing happens, for us and our kids.

Our workshop From Rupture to Repair is for parents and caregivers who want to learn how to come back from conflict, rebuild connection, and model grace, even when things get messy.

Because good parenting isn’t about never losing it.
It’s about finding your way back.

“You can’t outthink your trauma” means that trauma isn’t something you can "fix" by thinking harder or being more rational.

The truth is, your nervous system doesn’t care how much you understand your trauma. It cares how safe you feel.

You can know all the reasons why you react the way you do. You can analyze it, name it, even explain it to others. But if your body still feels unsafe, understanding alone won’t bring relief.

Trauma lives in the body and nervous system, it’s stored in sensations, emotions, and automatic responses. When your body perceives danger, even if your mind knows you’re safe, your system might still react as if you’re back in that threatening situation.

1. Why it matters

People often blame themselves for not being able to “get over it” or feel frustrated when insights don’t stop the flashbacks, panic, or shutdowns.

Understanding that trauma healing is not about “outthinking” reminds us it’s a body–mind process that requires gentleness, patience, and embodied tools.

2. How it helps in healing

Instead of pushing harder with rational arguments (“I shouldn’t feel this way”), we can focus on regulation, breathing, grounding, movement, or other somatic practices.

3. What to take away

Insight is important, although it isn’t the whole story.

Healing comes from working with both the mind and body, building safety, soothing the nervous system, and giving yourself permission to feel what couldn’t be felt back then.

Therapy modalities like EMDR and somatic approaches can be especially effective in helping the nervous system heal and restore a sense of safety.
If this resonates with you, consider giving yourself the space to slow down, listen to your body, and reach for support when you’re ready.

Are you a mom who…

Is constantly running on empty?
feels like you’re drowning in expectations?
tired of pretending you’re “fine” when you’re actually anxious, overwhelmed, or lonely?
misses who you used to be?
feels the constant pressure to do it all?
wonders if other moms secretly feel this way too?

If you answered yes to even one of these, our Motherload Therapeutic Support Group is for you, and it’s FREE, thanks to the generous donations raised during our 2025 Flora’s Walk fundraiser for Perinatal Mental Health. 💛

This 6-week therapeutic group is a space to pause, exhale, and finally put words to what’s been heavy.

Together, we’ll unpack the unseen mental load, challenge the impossible standards, and explore how to mother yourself with the same care you give everyone else.

We are offering two rounds of our transformative group, a morning and afternoon session starting Nov 7th to Dec 12th 2025.

Spots are limited and fill fast so reach out by DM or click link in our bio to join!

Motherhood changes everything, including how anxiety shows up.

It’s lying awake even when the baby’s asleep.
It’s the endless “what ifs.”
The racing heart when you finally leave them for an hour.
The snappiness that surprises even you.
The overthinking that makes small decisions feel impossible.

This isn’t just “new mom worry.” It’s postpartum anxiety, and it’s more common than most moms realize and you don’t have to keep pushing through alone.

Grace North can support you with support, connection and community with our popular Motherload therapeutic support group. This group is FREE for moms navigating the emotional and mental load of motherhood. Come connect, learn, and breathe again with other moms who truly get it.

💛 Babies welcome
💛 Free to attend
💛 Led by therapists who specialize in maternal mental health

👉 DM us or click the link in bio to learn more and to save your spot. We have limited spots left!! Start Nov 7th thru to Dec 12th with both a morning and afternoon option.
