Updates for Border Crossing with your Dog πŸš—

Updates to CDC’s August 1 dog importation rule: If you are bringing a dog into the US from a dog rabies-free or low-risk country, you now only need to fill out the simple CDC Dog Import Form. Other forms are no longer needed. The requirements for dogs arriving from high-risk countries have not changed, and these dogs are still required to have additional documents. Read the full requirements: www.cdc.gov/dogtravel

Thinking of traveling to the U.S with your dog? πŸš—

With all the recent changes we know it can be quite confusing with what needs to be done in order to prepare yourself and your dog for travel. We hope the following information makes your next trip a little less stressful.

As of August 1, 2024 all dogs entering the U.S from Canada will need to meet certain CDC requirements.
Be at least 6 months of age.
Have an ISO compliant microchip.
Have an up-to-date rabies vaccine.
Have a CDC Import Form completed (owner to fill out and submit online)
Have an export document signed by licensed veterinarian.
Appear healthy upon arrival.

Export forms will be filled out as requested with minimum 24hour notice to hospital staff.
The export form can be found at the end of the webpage in the link provided.

All the information can be found on the following webpage:
