You can do hard things, but you don’t “always” have to.
Hear us out on this - it’s important to acknowledge you can do hard things, and often times a supportive reminder to stay rooted in “the work” that is healing.
However, there are times where inviting in grace, understanding and self-compassion may be more beneficial than pushing ourself down the hardest path.
Let us share an example of what we mean by this.
You’re finding it challenging to prioritize nourishing your body in the morning. We land on a baked good being an accessible option. Your brain goes right into the place of now having to navigate where you’re going to find time in your weekend to bake muffins, scones or granola bars. The overwhelm of nourishing in the morning sets in again. Your dietitian suggests purchasing already prepared muffins during times of low capacity.
Just because you can prepare certain foods from scratch does not mean that you need to. This is about honouring your capacity. Sometimes we need some additional help & support to get our body nourished, and other times perhaps we have more capacity to make things from “scratch”.
From our most recent blog you’ll learn more about what it means to honour your capacity when planning meals.
