Anytime media coverage, social media posts, official statements from government or health organizations create a strong response in us - activation, anxiety, fear or avoidance, numbing and denying possibility - it's a beautiful opportunity to pause...use practices to acknowledge that response and return to steadiness (perhaps through breath + connection with Nature). And then there's an opportunity to explore things more fully, from that place of steadiness. I hope this post helps you do that. 💖✨

Do you know what you need to pack for feeding and caring for your infant, in the event of evacuation for storms, floods or fires? Are you ready for situations when you need to shelter in place at home, without power? Emergency preparation is key for continued safe infant feeding when the unexpected arises.

Burnout is too common for those who support and care for mothers and babies.

Midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, doulas, doctors...
..whether you work within the confines of a healthcare system whose pace and policies oppose the well-being of you and those you care for....
..or you work alongside that system, with the added tasks of running a business...
..you deserve to thrive AND provide the level of care you know mothers and babies need.

There's new content coming your way - here on IG and through a podcast launching this September.

My son - the baby that made me a mother - turns thirteen tomorrow. 💖

This milestone has stirred up emotions and invited reflection and inner exploration, that I wasn't expecting.

The result: the story of my journey from birth trauma and postpartum doubt to healing and wholeness.

Optimal breast pump fl**ge sizing.

What is the diameter of each ni**le?

What size feels comfortable when I’m pumping?

Is fl**ge lubrication helpful? (coconut oil is a great, natural option)

What size fl**ge optimizes pumping output? (Is this different for each side?)

Questions about fl**ge sizing? ⬇️⬇️⬇️

‘Tis the season. Biting insects are one of my least favourite parts of summer but they don’t stop us from being outside!

Our family most often chooses an essential oil combination (good quality oils, diluted to safe levels) for repellant spray. And, we’ve come to love our screen tent during the height of bug biting time - whether at home in the yard or while camping. It’s a great place to play cards at dusk before the campfire is lit!

When the bugs are ravenous, we’ll occasionally use an icaridin product, on our clothes (light long sleeves, pants & hats).

Beyond repellants, check out additional strategies on the last ‘slide’!

More to come on tick bite prevention in another post.
