It is world breastfeeding week-a time to celebrate breastfeeding (in any amount and in any form) in a world that poses so many barriers, which includes predatory formula marketing.
Formula marketing on social media actively undermines breastfeeding, harms parents, and harms infants. It’s time to take action and call it out.
Remember that calling for the accountability of systems whose primary function is to profit off of breastfeeding “failure,” does not equate negative judgement of the mothers who have needed or chosen to use human milk substitutes. This is about protecting the choice to breastfeed and the right to breastfeed without the influence of exploitive marketing.
