Eye care for seniors is essential as they are at a high risk of developing blinding eye diseases. One of the ways we contribute to the community is by providing comprehensive eye exams in senior homes where the residents have limited access and mobility. As some of our staff are bilingual, we are able to provide services in both English, Cantonese, Mandarin and French.

Diabetes can be very, very serious. 4 things you did not know about diabetes.

✨Diabetes can affect nearly every part of the body including the eyes.

✨Without careful management, it can cause prescription changes, cataracts, glaucoma and bleeding inside the eye.

✨ Bleeding inside the eye is known as diabetic retinopathy (DR) The longer a person has diabetes, the more likely they will develop DR. If left untreated, DR can cause blindness.

✨The only way to determine if a person's diabetes will cause blindness is through YEARLY comprehensive eye exam.

Cataract is the clouding of the eye’s crystalline lens. Can you see the white spikes at the edges of the pupil? This can cause symptoms of glare, especially in a dark environment.

Cataracts are an age-related condition. UV exposure, smoking, diabetes and certain medications can cause early onset of cataracts.

Joy, our compassionate and thoughtful team member, made some deliveries to our local Fire Department and EMS services.

Our clinic collected toonie donations from the sale of hand crafted masks and donations from providing disposable masks to patients that did not have one of their own to wear while in our office. The pot of toonies purchased a pile of $5.00 prepaid Tim Hortons gift cards in hopes of being able to put a warm beverage in the hands of our first responders working over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They sacrifice their family time to make sure our community is well cared for and we appreciate that even more so during this time of year and in the midst of COVID. Thank you for your service, stay safe and Merry Christmas!

Happy Halloween!!! Fun is not cancelled despite the pandemic. Costumes 👻, treats 🍭 and decoration 🎃 are still to be had!

We love seeing pediatric patients. Did you know first eye exam starts at 6 - 12 months old? We are able to detect/evaluate risks for lazy eye, high prescription and certain congenital conditions.

I took this video to share with the other optometrists in our clinic as I was testing this product out. Wasn’t planning on posting this, but too good to not share.

This anti-fog cloth works so well and I know everyone who wears glasses have experienced foggy lenses whether it is from wearing a mask, switching from cool to warm places, opening the oven door etc.

One wipe last for 48 hours, the cloth is good for at least 500 uses!

Just want to share this with you so you know it is available for your convenience. I ordered some for our clinic and it was sold out in a week. No worries, our new order just came in!
