I can't even imagine what he and his family went through that day... Perseverance in life...
I’ve now had two life changing events in my life. The first was losing my mother to a 5 year battle of ALS when I was 13. This taught me many life lessons and to live each day as if it’s my last. The second was during 2017 Ironman World Championships in Kona. I was in the best shape of my life where I was in very good position to finish in the top 10 and as first American. I could choose to live with the negative feelings of being robbed and being angry. However I’m focusing on the positive as I’m very grateful that God truly gave me a second chance in life as he has much more in store for me. Going 34-35 mph and flying head first into a vehicle and not breaking any bones is truly a miracle. Although I sustained some life threatening injuries I’m still here to live another day. I hope and pray to make a full recovery and I’m determined to come back stronger. I have to thank the triathlon community, friends, my family and my sponsors for the continued support and prayers during this recovery process. 📷 - Photos By Aaron
