Recreation Therapy
Dementia. Alzheimer’s Disease. Failure to Cope. Confusion. Parkinson’s Disease. Stroke.
If you have a loved one who is displaying signs of dementia, they may benefit from a visit of a Therapeutic Recreationist (aka, Recreation Therapist, Rec Therapy, TRS, TR, RT, Activation, ‘the person who does activities’ ... we go by many names). A recreation therapist can help the person with confusion and challenges find some clarity in the moment and keep them engaged in an activity or life for a while. We can also give respite to a care giver. We are generally creative and look for ways to maintain or increase engagement in hobbies and life in general! Contact Denise if you feel a need for support. If you are looking for a safe environment to get out together, socialize and enjoy a bit of trivia-like fun, please join in our Mind Matters program. The next session is held at the Dunlop Drive Centre for Older Adults in St. Catharines - 6:30 pm Monday February 24, 2020
