Thus, 'A Women's Circle for Song' in Alexandria is CANCELLED for Monday May 26.
I will be at the location in the event someone shows up!

I am not able to go this month, but highly recommend this event for women entrepreneurs in rural Eastern Ontario!

A Women’s Circle for Song

I recently read an article in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper * about the plight of women in another country and how they are being suffocated with restrictions of basic freedoms and rights under the current governmental regime. In stark contrast, most women in Canada and in my circles have many freedoms, some of which are to work, to socialize, to be creative, to go outdoors for a walk and freedom of speech. Even though I feel we are blessed to live in this country of ours, I also feel there are women here who are restricted, for whatever the reason, in some of these areas mentioned above. It has taken me many years to come to find my voice, and there are times I continue to struggle.
I write today to bring an awareness that even though women here have freedom of speech and many other freedoms, there is something within that keeps us back from expressing ourselves, our full potential, from sharing what is deep within our heart and soul. “A Women’s Circle for Song” is a space for women to gather in friendship, both new and old. It is a space for women to share voices and opinions in a safe and sacred place. It is a place where we can empower each other to grow and expand.
I have been facilitating “A Women’s Circle for Song” in my home for the past 2 years and have been wanting to bring this beautiful energy to a more public place. I feel there are women, Maiden, Mother or Crow, (young, middle aged or older) who could benefit in a variety of ways with a coming together of like minds and hearts.
You probably do not know me, nor I you, but, if there is a part of you that is yearning, longing for yourself, wanting something… different (?), I invite you to be part of our ‘sisterhood’ circle!
Are you ready? Call me. Text me. Email me. Join me.

A New Year, a new month, a new week with a new class each time.
Even though most of my yoga classes follow a pattern, a familiarity; they are also different and 'new' each time, taught in the Eastern Time Zone, and most often geared to those of you who show up in the class!

Recreation Therapy

Dementia. Alzheimer’s Disease. Failure to Cope. Confusion. Parkinson’s Disease. Stroke.

If you have a loved one who is displaying signs of dementia, they may benefit from a visit of a Therapeutic Recreationist (aka, Recreation Therapist, Rec Therapy, TRS, TR, RT, Activation, ‘the person who does activities’ ... we go by many names). A recreation therapist can help the person with confusion and challenges find some clarity in the moment and keep them engaged in an activity or life for a while. We can also give respite to a care giver. We are generally creative and look for ways to maintain or increase engagement in hobbies and life in general! Contact Denise if you feel a need for support. For more information, please check out www.niagaramountainside.com

If you are looking for a safe environment to get out together, socialize and enjoy a bit of trivia-like fun, please join in our Mind Matters program. The next session is held at the Dunlop Drive Centre for Older Adults in St. Catharines - 6:30 pm Monday February 24, 2020
