How Hormones Show Up in Everyday Symptoms

Obesity
Leptin, insulin, estrogens, androgens, and growth hormone influence appetite, metabolism, and fat distribution.

Low Libido
Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone shape desire and arousal. Higher estrogen can support lubrication and desire. Higher progesterone may lower desire.

Diabetes
Insulin is central to glucose control. Too little insulin or resistance raises blood sugar. High cortisol increases liver glucose output and worsens insulin resistance. Low testosterone in men and low estrogen in women increase diabetes risk. High growth hormone can also push insulin resistance.

Acne
Androgens such as testosterone and DHEA stimulate oil glands. Cortisol fuels inflammation. Hormone shifts through the cycle can trigger breakouts.

Cushing Syndrome
Cortisol is the key hormone. Chronically high levels from tumors or steroid medications cause Cushing features.

Hair Loss
DHT shrinks hair follicles and drives pattern hair loss. Ongoing stress and high cortisol can disrupt the hair growth cycle.

If you are looking for a single, comprehensive view that links symptoms to pathways and helps tailor care, take a look at our comprehensive hormone test.
