The Perfect Fit👂🏾🦻🏼

Who says hearing aids can’t be smart, stylish, and ready for the camera 🎥 Today’s hearing aids are discreet, lightweight, and custom-made to fit your unique ears, because no two people (or ears!) are exactly alike.

With the Starkey Omega AI Hearing Aids, you can enjoy clearer conversations, beautiful sound quality, and all the little moments you don’t want to miss, from laughter around the table to the sound of summer birds and splashing in the river.

At HLC, we believe hearing care should feel personal, thoughtful, and made just for you. Because you’re one of a kind and your hearing care should be too💛

In the words of Shark Tank star and founder of Fubu Daymond John “What impressed me about
Omega Al right away was how natural everything sounded. It’s not just louder but knows when to adjust in real time even in noisy environments.”

POV: You spend your days helping people hear better and somehow end up hearing “you deserve flowers” 🌸💛
We’ll never get over the kindness and generosity of our clients, it may be cliche to say but they make this job feel less like work and more like family.

Spring is in the air, even if it’s snowing outside. Inside it’s in bloom 💐💐

Advocate❗️Educate❗️Empower❗️
Not many people know this, but some of the most important minds 🧠, and hands✌🏼behind getting humans to the moon were deaf and hard of hearing 🌗🌖🌕👂🏾🦻🏼🚀

During the Apollo 1️⃣1️⃣ Moon 🌚Landing, teams at NASA and the Marshall Space Flight Center had a pretty significant and important team of deaf and hard of hearing workers in roles like technicians, inspectors, and machinists.
They worked on components of the Saturn V rocket 🚀, doing detailed, highly skilled work that demanded precision and focus.

They weren’t hired because they were deaf. They were hired because they were trained, capable, and ready to contribute to something bigger than them, and they did.
Their work and dedication helped make one of the greatest achievements in history possible.

They didn’t all have the same titles.
They didn’t all follow the same education path.
But they were given the opportunity to show their extreme talent and skill set, one that had nothing to do with their hearing capabilities or limitations.
Hearing loss doesn’t limit potential.
Lack of opportunity due to stigma, and assumption do.
When people are supported properly, there is no limit to what they can be part of.

Permanent But Preventable

NIHL is more common than many people realize.

It occurs when exposure to loud sounds over time (or even a single very loud event) damages the delicate hair cells in the inner ear. Once these cells are damaged, they don’t grow back, which makes prevention and protection so important.

The good news is that it is largely preventable. Simple habits like lowering volume, taking listening breaks, and using hearing protection in loud environments can make a big difference. If you’re noticing ringing, muffled hearing, or difficulty following conversations, it’s worth getting your hearing checked early.
This is where we come in. At HLC, we help identify early signs of hearing damage, protect the hearing you still have, and guide you toward simple, practical solutions, so you can stay connected to the people and sounds you love.

There’s something really special about the relationships we build here 🤍

Moments like this remind us that what we do goes far beyond hearing, it’s about connection, trust, and being part of our patients’ lives in meaningful ways.

From shared smiles to thoughtful gestures (and beautiful flowers 💐), we feel so grateful every single day for the people who walk through our doors.

This is why we do what we do.

3️⃣Of a Kind

👂👂🏾🦻🏼 3 types of hearing loss:

• Sensorineural – the most common, linked to inner ear damage (often supported with hearing aids)

• Conductive – caused by blockages like wax or fluid (often treatable)

• Mixed – a combination of both

The first step is understanding what’s going on, then we can help you move forward with confidence.

Hearing loss is often misunderstood, because it doesn’t look the same for everyone. Most people think it’s based on age, but the reality it doesn’t discriminate and can affect any age, at any stage of life. It doesn’t care if you’re a professional athlete, a new born baby, a singer, or a busy mom of 3.

Ignoring the signs can make things harder over time, but the good news? There are real solutions, support and treatments that are as easy as a simple cleaning.
