Sometimes the right ones find us 🩶🩵🤍

After saying goodbye to my precious Jewel not long ago, I didn’t expect to open my heart again so soon. But this little barn kitten needed a home, and thanks to the incredible care of the Aylmer Veterinary Hospital, in Gatineau, QC, he was nursed back to health and given a second chance at life.

His name is Trouble and while he may live up to his name now and then, he’s already filling my days with comfort, laughter, and love.

Sixteen years of unconditional love.

Jewel wasn’t just a cat— she was family. She filled our home with cuddles, warmth, and a very particular love for chicken. She gave me, Patricia, and our daughter Ramona sixteen years of pure joy.

Yesterday was a day we had been dreading. Our strong, beautiful girl who once even beat breast cancer, let us know it was time. Saying goodbye was heartbreaking, but it was the kindest choice for her.

We will miss her presence every single day, and there will forever be a void that can’t be filled.

Rest peacefully, sweet Jewel. May there be endless chicken and new friends waiting for you over the rainbow. 💔🐾
