Dear Family and Friends,
I recently accepted the challenge of taking part in Terry’s Scandi Walk September 20 2024, a 5km on walk in honour of Scandinavian Building Services late Founder, Leader and CEO Terry Hay (1952-2018). Alongside our staff walking in Terry’s memory, I am raising funds for critically needed pancreatic cancer research.
This year an estimated 7,100 Canadians will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Most of these patients will be given less than a year to fight, to live their lives, and make memories with their families. Advancements in pancreatic cancer have been drastically outpaced by other cancers because of historically low research investment. As a result, this disease is now the third leading cancer killer in Canada, making the need for critical research investments and support from donors more important and impactful than ever.
