Who I am in Life:
I am a mother, daughter, sister, friend, wife, and a full-time professional therapist. I, like many of you struggle at times to maintain balance. I am on the pretty much “happy side of life,” but I DO have my days. I have struggles, emotional setbacks, difficulty regulating my emotions, and not ENOUGH time. I try to engage in healthy habits, self-care, and surround myself with integrity. I have many wonderful people in my life who can and do support me. Sometimes though – I need to talk with someone who I am not emotionally connected to.
I have lived in the Medicine Hat area since I was 10 years old. I attended elementary and junior high school in Redcliff, Alberta. I graduated from Medicine Hat High School and attended the Medicine Hat College. I completed my BASc in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Lethbridge. I began my career in the late 1990’s working with individuals with mental health issues. Over the past twenty years I have had the honor to work with children, youth, young adults, and adults with a range of needs. I have worked with individuals, families and groups.
After about 18 years of working I went back to school and completed my MACP (Masters of Counselling Psychology) from Yorkville University. I now have my own private practice in counselling. I am a Registered Social Worker and a Provisional Registered Psychologist.
