Taking a 10 day solo trip to one of my favourite places last week was absolutely SOUL FILLING.
I spent quality time with two of my beloved close friends who live in BC.
I nourished my body with clean healthy food and enjoyed beautiful hikes.
I also took TONS of classes.
As a forever student of yoga, there are endless things to learn, and I love bringing new discoveries back to my community.
I was also filled with gratitude for our healing Studio space, the energy each person brings, and the community we're building together in our small town.
Most of the classes I took were yoga, but one was dance.
It took every ounce of courage to just walk in the door of the building. To confront my past, my fears, my limiting beliefs, my body insecurity.
Sure it was uncomfortable to be surrounded by woman 20+ years younger then me and to watch myself move in those full length mirrors...
But I did it.
My intention was simply to dance for the pure joy of it AND practice kindness to myself through Every. Single. Moment.
I'm so glad I went and held true to that intention, even though it was challenging.
Yoga has been a soft place to land over the last decade, and brought me so much healing.
I am wildly in love with this ancient practice, one of self love and acceptance, of growing awareness, learning to listen, learning to be still and in doing so learning to confront what's buried inside.
It's helped me untangle myself from past patterns and brought so many truths to the surface.
I have returned home so full, I'm overflowing and ready to give again to my family and community.
Taking time away,
looking at life from a distance,
missing what/who you love,
Enjoying a break...
It's so valuable and allows you to have fresh eyes for what's right before you.
