Better than an epidural, try this side-lying release from Spinning Babies to ease baby out

Do you know what's better than episiotomy for easing a birthing baby out? The Side-lying Release! (See in the comments) When the neurophysiological approach to easier birth isn't known, and when the focus is on the provider to "do something" (and not on the birthing pair who are doing something!) then a force approach (cutting) gets prioritized. Physiology--the stretching edge of birth care!

OTTAWA - Come out today to a special screening of the documentary MILK The Film at 4pm, followed by a panel discussion and reception! The program will focus on emergency preparedness for young families in global disasters and how corporate marketing decisions impact infant feeding.

RSVP required, contact michelle@safelyfed.ca to get on the list.

NOT IN OTTAWA? You can also participate by taking a minute to write your MP a note suggesting they drop by this event which was organized for parliamentarians and co-presented by MPs Peter Fonseca MP (Mississauga-Cooksville), Laila Goodridge (Fort McMurray—Cold Lake) and Laurel Collins (Victoria). So great to have the ear of the people who make decisions finally! This is a lot of hard work over many years by Safelyfed.ca and filmmaker Noemi Weis. Gratitude to you all.

Thank you for supporting young families by protecting maternal and newborn health and improving food security during emergency situations and every day!
