The WSCC-Approved Supervisor Safety Course is designed to educate individuals working in supervisory positions in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in their roles and responsibilities within workplace safety. The course consists of eight modules:
1. Legislation
2. Responsibilities
3. Leadership in Safety
4. Offences & Punishment
5. OHS Programs
6. Reporting Requirements
7. Contractor Safety Management
8. Return to Work Programs
Participants must achieve an average of 75% across three quizzes throughout the program to pass.

Please note that this course will be delivered through Zoom. All participants must have their own computer (with functioning we**am, microphone, and headphones/speakers) and access to the internet to complete training.

Did you know Arctic Response runs public first aid courses at least twice per month from our Yellowknife office?

Blended Intermediate First Aid (formerly known as Standard First Aid with CPR & AED) condenses training into an online module and one day in-class. The online course takes an average of 4 to 6 hours to complete; the in-class day is from 9 am to 5 pm with an hour break for lunch.

All individuals who wish to obtain non-restricted fi****ms must first complete the CFSC program and then apply for a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).

Day 1 will be from 6 to 9 pm on Friday, Aug 22. Day 2 will be from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Aug 23. Potential for practical exam appointments to be scheduled after 5 pm on August 26.

Join our Canine First Aid class on July 14 in ! You will learn: what to do if different poisonous plants or toxins make it into your pet’s stomach, how to stabilize many different injuries, clearing your pet’s airway in the event of choking, and how to preform CPR on a dog. We will teach you how to stabilize your pet until they are able to be taken to/see by a veterinarian.

All students must be 12 years of age or older.
No prerequisite courses necessary.

Remote/Wilderness First Aid trains the candidate with a better understanding of the patients critical systems of the body: skeletal, nervous, cardiovascular, endocrine and muscular. As well, the rescuer must learn to factor and deal with delayed rescue, environmental conditions, limited resources, and multiple casualties. This training is appropriate for people driving between remote communities as it is for people working on the land.

Arctic Response is looking for another Field Instructor for our Yellowknife office! As a Field Instructor, your primary role would be delivering a wide range of field safety and first aid training programs to client groups in Yellowknife, throughout the Northwest Territories, and anywhere else our work takes us. When not teaching, administrative functions may include course and curriculum development, equipment maintenance, logistical planning, and/or operational taskings (wilderness safety oversight for film crews, wildlife monitoring, medic services, etc.) commensurate with qualifications and abilities. Though delivering field safety and first aid programs are the primary functions of this position, instructors are also expected to develop the capacity to instruct programs in other areas, such as industrial safety.
